[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll truth, Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman.

[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: After he rose from the death that they kind of forgot about his death and resurrection,

[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_01]: understand that this is a Tuesday or Wednesday of Holy Week. And Jesus describes in great detail

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_01]: from many different angles what's going to happen when he returns and how one prepares for

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: that second coming. Interesting. A lot of us, myself included, think about what he said in

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Matthew 24 and Matthew 25 and think, God, I was said, you know, sometime during his ministry. No,

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: it was Holy Week. Right? And so the primary teaching of Jesus during the Holy Week

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_01]: centered on his second coming. Interesting. Now, we're in Matthew chapter 25 and who got the

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_01]: parable of the 10 virgins. Remember? And five virgins didn't bring oil for their lamps and

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_01]: five did, right? And they had their lamps lit and they were ready for the bridegroom to come and

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: eat the bride. As Israel tradition tells us, they were already and then they fell asleep, right?

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And then the bridegroom comes at midnight. We pick it up in verse 7. Then all those virgins

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_01]: rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, give us some of your oil for

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: our lamps are going out. But the wise answered saying, since there will not be enough for us and

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: for you go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves. In other words, I know it's midnight,

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: but they'll sell you some oil going get some and then come back. And while they were going to buy,

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_01]: the bridegroom came and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast and the door

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_01]: was shut. Okay. What is this saying? Okay. This is saying this. You cannot be saved by someone else's

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_01]: you can't say, well my parents believed in Christ or my grandparents believed in Christ or my

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_01]: friends believe in Christ or I have the faith of the saints and I'm going to lean on that. No one

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_01]: could be saved by someone else's faith. Secondly, what this is saying is when Christ comes back

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_01]: and someone is an unbeliever they can look up in the heavens, see the coming and approaching

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Son of God coming to take us home. They can't say, well I didn't believe in my lifetime, but now I believe,

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_01]: no, by that time we talked about this before. By that time it's too late. You see,

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_01]: are eternal faith is determined. Listen to this. The moment we die. The Bible says there's a

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: point of man wants to die and then the judgment. And so if a person dies trusting in Jesus or has

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: faith in Christ when Christ returns, if a person dies trusting in Jesus they're saved,

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: if a person trusts in Jesus when Christ comes back and they're still alive, they're saved.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_01]: No one can be saved by looking at Jesus when he returns and say now I believe by that time

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: that's what this is saying their faith at that time when Christ returns which has been elicited

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_01]: by Christ return their faith will not save them. One must have saving faith during their lifetime.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_01]: And so you might be saying well what's the purpose of judgment day then? The purpose of

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_01]: judgment day is this. It's a public declaration of where a person is and their faith relationship

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: with Jesus Christ. For those who died trusting in Jesus, the declaration on judgment day will be

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: you are not guilty, right? Your sins are forgiven come to my heaven and live with me forever. Those who

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: don't have saving faith during their lifetime and die without that saving faith, the public declaration

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_01]: is are separated from God eternally. So that's what Jesus is getting at in this parable and again

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: it's so interesting to me that he talks so deeply about his second coming, about his return,

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: the week of his crucifixion and resurrection. Like I said at the beginning of this podcast,

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if the disciples were so said or honest second coming that they kind of forgot what

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is said previously and even said it during only week the Son of Man will be

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Hennower and the Anzac Simple Man be crucified raised up on the third day. I think they just

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: completely dismissed that because if they would remember that, guess where they would have been on

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_01]: the day the Jesus rose from the dead, they would have been at the tomb anticipating this

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_01]: glorious event of Christ rising from the dead. Okay bottom line of this podcast today is keep your faith

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_01]: in Christ. Right? And we talked about that yesterday. This is one of the ways that we prepare for

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: the second coming of Christ. The oil of God's Word feeds our faith and we continue to trust in

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Jesus as we are fed by the oil of God's Word. We continue to trust in Jesus until he comes

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: to take us home and that will be a marvelous day and I can't wait. So bottom line keep feeding your faith

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_01]: and talk to other people who don't know Jesus because when Christ comes back and they don't have

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_01]: a day being faith they can look up at the heavens and say, oh now I believe by that time it is

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: too late and we want as many people as possible to enter into the gates of the eternal kingdom

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: with our Lord Jesus when He comes back. Amen. Amen and that is today's daily truth have a great

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: day in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for tuning in to daily truths with Dave Olman.
