Straight Talk to the Elderly | DT on the Run

[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody, the other day I was having a conversation with one of our members and it was a pretty

[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_01]: animated conversation and he knew that you know that I had had hip surgery recently

[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_01]: and he told me he was sitting down on his chair and there was only one chair available

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_01]: and he said here, have a seat in this chair pastor Dave, you're elderly

[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Nobody has ever called me elderly

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_01]: But if the shoe fits where, right?

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so since Beth and I are elderly now we decided to get a love seat that reclines

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_01]: right?

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And there it is.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And I tell you, it's really comfortable and you know what being quote elderly

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: now indicates that most of our life is over and our days are passing away and we're

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_01]: probably a lot closer to death than we were our birth, right?

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_01]: We're elderly

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So as a result of that you know what's going to happen someday, Beth and I are going

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_01]: to be laid to rest but I'm not afraid and neither should you be if you know Jesus

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_01]: because I know when I leave here I'm going to be with the Lord Jesus this is a certainty

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: in hope and confidence we have as Christians and it doesn't matter if you're young or old

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_01]: or middle-aged or elderly.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We have eternal life and Christ and that is awesome.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what, when we get to have an or just changing residency it's like we're going

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: from a one bedroom apartment to a mansion right?

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be so much better than anything we've ever experienced here on planet Earth

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_01]: but it's going to be amazing and so this and the gray air I have you know a little

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_01]: bit.

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01]: It reminds me that I'm elderly but someday I will be eternally youthful and so will

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: you living in the presence of Jesus forever thanks be to God and I hope this comforts

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: all of you who are listening who today are elderly.
