[00:00:00] We'll truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman I've Cliff and I thought, my goodness, this is marvelous. I remember feeling the same way about the grand canyon about the grand t-tons in northwestern Wyoming. I mean you see those things

[00:00:41] for the very first time and you just have to marvel. Did you marvel at the birth of your kids or did you marvel at the first time something so astounding happened to you?

[00:00:52] It just had to be a work of God. It seems like these days we marvel less and less. We're in Matthew chapter 22 and remember the Herodians and representatives from the Pharisees are trying to trip Jesus up. And they say these words in verse 17, tell us what you think

[00:01:13] is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not? But Jesus aware of their malice said, why do you put me to the test? Do hypocrites show me the coin for the tax and they brought him a

[00:01:25] Daenerious and Jesus said to them, whose likeness and inscription is this? They said his Caesar's. Then he said to them, therefore rendered his Caesar the things that are Caesar's and to God the things that are gods when they heard it listen to this, when

[00:01:41] they heard it, they marveled and they left him and went away. They marveled because he was so smart because he gave just the exact answer he needed to give. They marveled because they thought,

[00:01:57] okay, he kind of satisfied both both the Herodians and the Pharisees and those who think you got to offer God your very best. So he solved the problem. He called them in their own game.

[00:02:11] He called their bluff and they marveled at his smarts and then they walked away. Hmm, I marveled that the fact that God created all things in sick days and he made it all out of nothing

[00:02:27] except for Adam and Eve. In that marvelous I marveled with Jesus left the cushy mansions of heaven above and came down to this earth as soon one of our bodies became a human being

[00:02:41] went to the cross and died for us and then rose again to defeat death. I marvel at that. I marvel, the Holy Spirit has broken down our stubborn resisting will, remove the blinders of

[00:02:55] unbelief so that we acknowledge Jesus for who he is. I marvel at that. I marvel that a poor miserable sinner like myself can be saved by faith in Jesus alone. I marvel at that. I marvel at that.

[00:03:10] I marvel that God forgives my sins completely for the sake of Jesus. I marvel that happened as my eternal home for the sake of Jesus. I marvel that God never leaves me or a

[00:03:22] bannens me and gives me strength to face any challenge in life. I marvel at that and I have to look at and say that's marvelous. Can you say the same thing? Has the joy and anticipation of

[00:03:40] having a relationship with God and seeing what God does on a daily basis in your life? Has that somehow left you? Has that feeling dissipated? Has the joy kind of abandon you? Oh my friends,

[00:03:55] all you have to do is look around and see the majesty of what God has made and see the incredible mercy of what He did in sending His Son and see the marvelous work of the Holy Spirit and bringing

[00:04:08] you to faith. You are a precious child of God and I pray that the Lord would bring into your heart the ability to marvel at things once again. What a marvelous world we live in. What a marvelous

[00:04:25] God created it. What a marvelous love God has for us in giving us Jesus. What a marvelous spirit lives inside of us that is broadest to faith and keeps us in the faith through word and sacrament

[00:04:37] as I look at it all. I say, ooh how marvelous and may you say the very same thing today and that is today's daily truth have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for tuning
