Matthew 24:36-39 - Jesus said that His return would be much like the coming of the flood in Noah's day. And almost everyone was not ready. Are you ready for Christ's return?

[00:00:00] Real Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman.
[00:00:07] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. The scripture reading for today is Matthew
[00:00:11] chapter 24 verses 36-39. But concerning that day and hour, no one knows not even the angels
[00:00:19] of heaven nor the Son but the Father only. We talked about that a couple days ago, verse
[00:00:24] 37. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in
[00:00:30] those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage
[00:00:34] until the day when Noah entered the ark. And they were unaware until the flood came and
[00:00:39] swept them all away. So will be the coming of the Son of Man. Holy cow, let's take a
[00:00:45] look at this passage. First of all, Noah built this ark. He had some help. His three
[00:00:49] sons, their three wives. Maybe there are some people in the community that helped.
[00:00:53] Maybe there was divine intervention that helped. But can you imagine if you remember
[00:00:58] that community and you saw this guy building this huge boat, 150 yards long, 30 yards wide
[00:01:05] and he was saying there's going to be a flood and maybe some people helped and maybe
[00:01:10] they got paid. Maybe they didn't. But can you imagine the mocking and ridicule that
[00:01:15] Noah received from those people? What are you doing? No, this is crazy.
[00:01:19] Why are you doing this? This is never going to happen. And he kept preaching
[00:01:22] and preaching that the people would repent and a flood was coming.
[00:01:27] And guess what? He was totally ignored.
[00:01:31] And people were unaware. It was business as usual.
[00:01:35] They were eating, drinking, marrying, giving in marriage, as the Bible says here
[00:01:39] in this scripture. And then suddenly the flood came.
[00:01:43] The rains came. It took 40 days and eventually everything, including Mount
[00:01:47] Everest, was covered on planet Earth.
[00:01:49] And they all, the Bible says they were all swept away.
[00:01:53] What can we say about this?
[00:01:55] Nobody listened. People were unaware today, especially on Daily Truths.
[00:02:00] We're talking about end time theology here in the last couple of weeks.
[00:02:04] We know that Christ is going to come back.
[00:02:06] How do we know that?
[00:02:08] Because he never breaks his promises.
[00:02:11] His word is sure. It endures forever.
[00:02:15] And when he says it, he does it and that settles it for us.
[00:02:19] So indeed, he is coming back.
[00:02:21] This is what we preach.
[00:02:23] There's preachers all over the globe preaching that.
[00:02:26] But what happens?
[00:02:27] Most people pretty much ignore that word and they are unaware.
[00:02:32] Business as usual, going to work, raising kids, making money, getting married,
[00:02:38] you know, you know, saving their 401k,
[00:02:42] doing the things that the world says is so important.
[00:02:45] And most people, three quarters of the people on planet Earth just basically
[00:02:49] ignore what we're saying.
[00:02:51] And they are unaware that someday Jesus is going to come back or maybe they're
[00:02:56] aware of it, but they're just ignoring it.
[00:02:58] And when he comes like the flood, it's going to come suddenly, instantaneously.
[00:03:02] And you can think about, did people knock on the door of the Ark and say,
[00:03:08] let us in, let us in when Christ returns?
[00:03:10] Can people say, let us into heaven, let us into heaven by that time?
[00:03:14] It's too late.
[00:03:15] And that's Jesus point when he comes back, it will be too late to repent
[00:03:21] and put your trust in Jesus.
[00:03:23] The time is now.
[00:03:24] Listen, if you're listening to this podcast today and you don't have a
[00:03:30] relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ, repent of your sin.
[00:03:36] Put your trust in Jesus, the one who lived for you died on a cross to
[00:03:40] take away your sins as a holy, perfect sacrifice and rose again from the dead.
[00:03:46] Just as listen to this, just as he promised, he said he would do that.
[00:03:51] And he hung out for 40 days and 500 people saw Jesus alive after he
[00:03:58] rose from the dead.
[00:03:59] This is why, and you've heard me say this before, this is why in the
[00:04:02] early church, the first century, there was very little pushback concerning
[00:04:06] Christianity because so many people had had an eye to eye encounter with the
[00:04:11] living Lord Jesus Christ.
[00:04:13] My friend, if you're on the fence regarding Christianity, the time to
[00:04:18] receive Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit is now today.
[00:04:22] Don't wait.
[00:04:24] Don't be like the people in those days.
[00:04:26] They were totally unaware, unprepared and ignored the counsel of Noah
[00:04:31] when he preached.
[00:04:32] Don't ignore the counsel of God's word today.
[00:04:36] Repent, put your trust in Jesus and then you will be ready when Christ
[00:04:41] returns.
[00:04:42] And oh yes, by the way, he could return at any moment on any day.
[00:04:48] And that is today's Daily Truth.
[00:04:50] Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
