[00:00:00] Real Truth Daily This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman So he's giving these sad you see a speech, a penetrating, powerful, probing, pointed speech. And basically he's saying, do you get it? And they didn't. And my point with you guys today is, do you get it?
[00:00:30] And you can say yes, I do. So verse 29 as we read, Jesus answered, you are wrong because you neither know the Scripture is nor the power of God. Now here's the answer guys, because some of us I think are going to be surprised
[00:00:47] by what I read now in verse 30. In the resurrection, they neither marry nor are given in marriage. I stopped right there because I want that to sink in. There is no marriage and heaven.
[00:01:08] And I've officiated at many funerals where people got up and fortunately got up and said, well good old Uncle Joe, you know, and Sarah died many years ago and now Uncle Joe and
[00:01:18] Sarah are reunited together. They're married once again and no, no, no, no, no, no, the Bible says right here clearly there is no marriage in heaven. And I know for some of us including me that's kind of a bummer, right?
[00:01:33] I would love to be married to my wife, into eternity. By the way, the Mormons make up for this by coming up with this false teaching by saying,
[00:01:41] oh, when you die, when men die, you establish your own kingdom if you're a good Mormon, you establish your own kingdom. It's called the Celestial Kingdom and there you have not just one wife, but many wives.
[00:01:53] And then you have many different babies and those different babies are called spiritual babies. And so they need human beings to occupy and so that's why Mormons have big families. So these spirit beings coming from these Celestial kingdoms cannot occupy human beings once again.
[00:02:09] And the whole process starts over. Isn't that crazy? Did you guys know that? Yeah, this is a teaching in the Mormon church and many people don't know that. Why is that because they contradict the scripture, hoping that somehow if you follow Jesus example,
[00:02:25] you'll have your own Celestial Kingdom, there you'll have many wives, there you'll have perpetual relations with women. And as a result of that, you're all these spirit babies and then they need to come to her to show their mental and their favor and their love and their obedience.
[00:02:41] So that they can go to heaven too following Jesus. Exactly, it's a total works oriented religion. And we know just in case you haven't heard enough from me. We know we're not saved by our works. Amen, can I get an amen?
[00:02:58] Amen, we're saved by faith in Jesus alone who lived and died and rose again. And when you guys, hopefully it's not in the near future, but when you're on your deathbed and I come to see you and I say,
[00:03:09] you're ready to go be with Jesus, I don't want anybody to say why. Hope so, I hope I've been good enough. Hopefully you're going to say Jesus Christ has been good enough. He paid the penalty for my sin.
[00:03:20] He died and rose again and because he carried my sin and defeated death and I believe in him, I'm going to heaven and when I get to heaven, I'll be married once again to my wife for a husband. No, there's no.
[00:03:36] Read my lips, there's no marriage in heaven. That sounds like a bummer. So let's see ultimate marriage then. What can we really get excited about? What did we sing about just a few minutes ago? Here is the ultimate marriage.
[00:04:06] When Christ comes back and he's the bridegroom and we as the church are the bride and in glorious expectation, we'll lift up our eyes, we'll look into the clouds, we'll see the Lord descending and he'll take his home to live with him forever.
[00:04:24] And he will be our joy and he will be our all-in-all and he will be our source of purpose and life and identity. You see, we as believers in Christ are the church. We are the bride of Christ and Jesus is the bridegroom.
[00:04:43] And so the marvelous reuniting of the glory of the saints is not with those who have gone before us, but being reunited in a face to face and counter with the living Lord Jesus Christ. He the bridegroom and we the bride united forever for all eternity. Get it?
[00:05:08] Let me say it again. I tell you what, I've performed probably 400 weddings and I have the best seat in the house. Because I am up there in the front and the double doors open and I'm looking at the groom and he is just beaming. Right?
[00:05:32] And the rest of people are sitting there like you guys, you know they're looking this way. They can't see what I see because I see both of them simultaneously. I'm looking at the groom, I'm looking at the bride, the double doors open and there she is.
[00:05:45] Radiant, glorious, splendorous, wonderful, marvelous and he is beaming and she's filled with joy and she walks down the aisle and extends his hand and they come up to the altar and they're being united as husband and wife.
[00:06:01] That's a picture of what it's going to be like when Christ comes back. The double doors of the clouds will open and Jesus will descend and we as a bride will be beaming. Because the bridegroom is coming to take us home. This is the ultimate marriage.
[00:06:25] This is what we look forward to now is my wife going to be there absolutely. My mom and dad be there absolutely. Well my brother and I'll be there absolutely, but that will not be my all and all. Christ is our all and all.
[00:06:41] St. Paul said a best when he said I have a desire to depart and be with Christ. For me to live his Christ, but to die is so much better. Did you hear the epistle rating today? We have these earthly tents.
[00:06:56] Bodies filled with infirmities and pain and struggles and difficulties and sicknesses and decaying bodies. Bodies that wear out, joints that wear out. But a day is coming when Christ will come back and we'll never have any of that stuff ever again.
[00:07:14] And the sorrow and pain and disappointment and loneliness and difficulty of this life will be no more. This is our joy. This is our hope. This is the eternal marriage. This is the ultimate marriage with our Savior Jesus.
