[00:00:00] We'll truth, Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman. Up into context Jesus was very busy between Paul's Sunday and Monday Thursday. I mean, he cleared the temple. He taught on parables of the tenants and to sons and the wedding fees. He had

[00:00:45] a discussion about taxes. He discussed the resurrection of the dead with the sadacies. He talked about rendering the things that are Caesar's. He talked about a lot of different things and many different conversations with a lot of different people. Finally, we come

[00:01:03] to this. And he talked about the great commandment right to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and your neighbor as yourself. I mean, he had really dynamic conversations with the religious leaders and all of that exacerbated his crucifixion.

[00:01:19] I mean, it brought it on because these guys were so convinced that he was a false Messiah. And even the declarations that he made and even the parables that he taught. And even though the crowds walked away amazed and astonished by what Jesus said to say, no, we're

[00:01:36] still going to kill him. And that's basically what happened. Of course, I was all according to the will of God as we know. So this is probably maybe Tuesday or Wednesday of Holy Week when it says this. Now while the Pharisees, this was verse 41, while the Pharisees

[00:01:52] were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question saying, what do you think about the Christ? Basically he's saying, what do you think about me? Who's son is he? They said him the Son of David. So Jesus basically was saying, do you believe the Messiah will come

[00:02:09] out of the line of David? And the Pharisees said, yep, he sure will. Now what's the declaration of the Son of David all about? That means that Jesus was a descendant of the Promised

[00:02:21] Messiah was a descendant of David. That's what it means. And so that's where he got his humanity, obviously born of the Virgin Mary and all of that. He was fully human and fully

[00:02:33] God. Now he didn't always use the power yet as God when he was fully human, right? You can think of times when he stood before her head. And I heard what it meant to perform miracles

[00:02:43] and he didn't do it. When he was on the cross, he could have jumped down from the cross and saved himself. And he didn't do it. When he was asked, what's going to happen

[00:02:51] when Zian times going to be? He said according to his state of humiliation, I don't know. All these different things indicated that he was human. Obviously, a, he slept, he drank, he walked, he talked, he did all the things that human beings do. Demonstrating that

[00:03:07] he was a human being. However, at times, he used the power that he had as God like when he still the storms, when he cleansed the lepers. When he raised the dead and on and

[00:03:18] on, that's when his divinity was burning brightly. So we would say that Jesus, according to the two natures, Jesus was both fully man and fully God. And remember, He was a descendant

[00:03:31] of David. And that's why we'd say He was fully man. Okay? So what does all of this mean for us? Because Jesus was fully human, he can fully identify with the problems, temptations

[00:03:46] and situations that we face. Because He faced them as well as a matter of fact, the book of Hebrews tells us that Jesus was this. We do not have a high priest who is unable to

[00:03:57] sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who is tempted in every way just as we are, that was without sin. There were four, we can approach the throne of grace to receive

[00:04:09] mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. What is that saying to us? That saying Jesus understands the problems, trials, difficulties, and temptations we go through because He was and His human. The marvelous thing is when we call upon Him and we talk about

[00:04:30] our frustrations and we talk about our pains instead of saying, get over it. He can say, I understand, bend there, done that. And what's amazing is Jesus through his strength helps us through those situations when we face temptation and fall, He forgives us for

[00:04:51] those temptations and those situations. And goes before the throne room of God when we fall into temptation, pleading our case before God the Father, saying Father forgive them, they don't know what they're doing. So the amazing thing about Jesus is He's both God and He's you can

[00:05:10] say it and He's both God and man, right? And because of that, He fully understands what we go through when we go through it because He went through the same thing. Isn't that comforting?

[00:05:26] Isn't that marvelous to know? So I hope this little D.T. today was helpful. I guess the bottom line of it would be, know that Jesus understands our weaknesses because He was a human being facing all the weaknesses of life just as we face some yet, the difference

[00:05:42] between Him and us. He was sinless and we are not. All right. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ. And that is today's daily truth. Thank you for tuning in to daily truths with Dave Olman. Pastor Dave Olman is the pastor
