[00:00:00] We'll Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman.

[00:01:00] The Lord has told us, let the Lord your God with all your hearts, soul and mind, and your neighbor as yourself.

[00:01:05] In the ten commandments, He has told us to keep him number one in our life, not to take his name and vein, to honor the Sabbath, to respect authority,

[00:01:15] to not kill anyone, to not have impure hearts, to not covet people's items, to not bear false witness against our neighbor, to not lie, steal, covet, or do anything that is opposed to the word of God.

[00:01:28] That is the account that needs to be settled, and how have we done? Well, this is what it says in verse 24. When He began to settle, one was brought to him, who owed him 10,000 talents. That's more than this individual could possibly pay in his lifetime.

[00:01:48] It would be impossible to pay that back. Do you know what's impossible for us to keep the commandments of God, and fulfill the debt of love that we owe to our Heavenly Father? God, the Father, expects us to be perfect.

[00:02:03] Jesus said it best when He said, be there for a perfect, even as the Father in heaven is perfect. But we're not! We sin against God daily, we break His commands, we offend His ways, we don't fulfill what He's told us to do in His Word.

[00:02:19] We owe Him a huge debt. What do we deserve because of that? Well, this is what it says in verse 25. And since He could not pay the servant could not pay.

[00:02:30] His master ordered Him to be sold with His wife and children, and all that He had, and payment to be made. In other words, the king said, hey, we're going to sell you off to become a slave of somebody else.

[00:02:41] Your wife and your kids are going to be sold as well. Oh my goodness! That is a huge debt, and that still couldn't pay back the debt that the servant owed the king. Okay? Now what could God do with us because of our disobedience to His Word?

[00:02:58] He could cast us into hell. He could separate us from Him forever. But He doesn't do that! As you're going to find out in the days ahead in this incredible, God cancels the debt. And so we owed Him a perfect life.

[00:03:15] We owe Him respect and honor and love and obedience, and we haven't given it. God can say away from me, I'm going to cast you into hell. You deserve nothing but my condemnation and wrath. And yet incredibly, marvelously, astoundingly He forgives the debt.

[00:03:34] That's what we're going to find out. I don't want to steal the thunder of coming episodes. But basically you're going to find out that He cancels the debt. And we know why because He allowed His Son to live and die and arise again,

[00:03:47] so that our debt of love that we owed our Heavenly Father could be fully and completely forgiven. A lot of times we say these words, why me? Why doesn't things go right? And why didn't this happen? And sometimes I've heard people say, well, you know, with our lock,

[00:04:07] because it'll never happen. You know, as if we're so astoundingly unlucky, you know what? We're very lucky. We're very blessed. I don't like the word luck, by the way. We're very blessed. Why? Because God in His infinite mercy and incredible grace has canceled our debts

[00:04:26] and made us His own, and given us the right to be called sons and daughters of Almighty God. I don't know how that makes you feel, but that makes me feel incredibly blessed. So my encouragement to you today is have a blessed day in the Lord Jesus Christ.

[00:04:50] And remember the debt that we owed God of a perfect life has been fully and completely canceled through the finished work of Jesus. We'll talk about how that impacts our relationships then in the coming days. Have a great day in Christ, and that is today's Daily Truth.
