[00:00:00] Real Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman.

[00:00:07] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. We're in Matthew chapter 26 and remember Jesus is in the Garden of Gethsemane and he's ready to be apprehended.

[00:00:15] And remember Peter gets out his sword, cuts off Malchus' ear, Jesus puts it back on, and then Jesus reprimands Peter by saying this in verse 53.

[00:00:24] Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father and he will at once send me more than 12 legions of angels?

[00:00:32] What's Jesus talking about there? That I could call upon the Father and he'd send 72,000 angels to help me out.

[00:00:41] A legion is 6,000 and so a legion of soldiers would be 72,000. So Jesus is saying if I ask God the Father to help me out,

[00:00:49] but he'd send 72,000 angels to get me out of this jam. In other words, I'm doing this because I need to.

[00:00:57] I'm doing this because God has called me to it. Now, he said, God could send angels to help me out.

[00:01:06] You think about Satan in Matthew chapter 4. He knew that God could send angels to help Jesus out.

[00:01:14] Remember, he took him to the pinnacle of the temple and he said, throw yourselves down because the angels will help you out.

[00:01:22] In Matthew chapter 28, when the women went to anoint what they thought would be the dead body of our Lord Jesus.

[00:01:27] Remember, an angel sat on top of the stone and said, why do you seek the living among the dead? You seek Jesus of Nazareth.

[00:01:33] He's not here. Go and tell his disciples who'll meet them in Galilee. An angel was sent to help them out.

[00:01:41] You think about Acts chapter 12 when Peter was in prison and the next day he was going to be beheaded just like James,

[00:01:49] just like John the Baptist because Herod hated Christians. And what happened? Right? An angel was sent him to help him out.

[00:01:58] Opened up the cell gate and then got to the gate that led to the city. Opened that up too. Kind of like when you go to the grocery store and the door automatically opens, you know?

[00:02:08] The same thing happened to Peter. An angel was sent to help him out.

[00:02:15] I think about a funny story. Well, it's really, it wasn't funny at the time, but I was about eight years old and I was with my mom and dad.

[00:02:23] And we were in a snow storm and we came to this hill and my dad was spinning his tires.

[00:02:29] He didn't have his snow tires on. I think it was early November or whatever.

[00:02:32] And he was spinning his tires and I was eight years old. My mom was sitting, of course, in the passenger seat.

[00:02:37] And my dad said, would you guys get out to push?

[00:02:43] Now, my mom was not very strong, even though she was a large lady.

[00:02:47] She was not very strong. And I surely wasn't. But you know what?

[00:02:51] We pushed that car up the hill. It was probably like a 30 degree angle.

[00:02:56] And somehow we pushed that car, just the two of us by ourselves.

[00:03:00] Do you know what I think? I think God sent an angel to help us out.

[00:03:07] We've talked about this before. There are many times when you've been in perilous situations and you could have perished, but you didn't because God sent an angel to you to assist you, to help you out.

[00:03:20] So just know that what he's done in the past, he will do in the future.

[00:03:26] He sends his holy angels to us as ministering spirits to assist, to help and to protect.

[00:03:35] So the next time you you're in a perilous situation, a dangerous situation and you come out of it, do not say, well, I thank my lucky stars or I was fortunate.

[00:03:45] No, thank God for sending, sending ministering spirits to you to help you out in your time of need.

[00:03:54] And that is today's Daily Truth. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
