Let's get Out of Here.....Let's Go Home! | Matthew 24:26-27

[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. I can remember in about 1966 or so there was

[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_02]: a stadium in downtown Denver called Bear's Stadium and the Denver Bears minor league team played

[00:00:19] [SPEAKER_02]: there and their 4th of July fireworks were amazing. Now this was in the days when they

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_02]: didn't have any left field stands and they had different fireworks on the fence and

[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_02]: they lit one of the fireworks and the fireworks went off. I think it was a figure of a Denver

[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Bear or maybe a Denver Bronco, I can't remember but it was all lit up and all of a sudden the

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_02]: fence caught on fire and my mom looked at my dad and she had a very high pitched voice

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: and she goes, Arnold, lets get out of here. And my dad said, yeah honey, lets go home.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Now they got the fire out pretty quickly. All of that reminds you what it says here in

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Matthew chapter 24 verses 26 and 27. This is Jesus speaking and again this is the Olivet

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Discourse and he's talking about end time stuff and it says this, so if they say to

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: you look he is in the wilderness talking about the coming Messiah and the reason

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_02]: it says he is in the wilderness there was a prophet like figure namely an Elijah

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_02]: like figure John the Baptist who is in the wilderness and so some people thought when

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_02]: the Messiah comes back he's going to appear in the wilderness. So Jesus says, so if they

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_02]: say to you look he is in the wilderness do not go out. If they say look he is in the

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_02]: inner rooms do not believe it in an inner room of a house and all of a sudden making

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_02]: a sudden appearance. So if that's the way the Messiah comes back or they think the

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Messiah is going to come back don't pay any attention to it. Now we've talked already

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: folks many times in DT in the last two or three weeks though when Christ comes back

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: everybody's going to know it. So that's basically what Jesus is reiterating here

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_02]: reaffirming here when Christ comes back when the Messiah comes back everybody

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: will know it and it's going to be instantaneous as a matter of fact that's

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: what he says in the next verse in verse 27 he says for as the lightning comes

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_02]: from the east and shines as far as the west so will be the coming of the

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Son of Man lightning when lightning strikes everybody on the horizon can see

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: that lightning strike you can see it from miles away if it strikes in the east you

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_02]: can see it in the west right that's what Jesus is saying now what is it about

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_02]: lightning why does it compare his second coming to lightning well lightning

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_02]: comes suddenly quickly unexpectedly listen to this folks you can't determine

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_02]: when and where it's going to hit hmm we can't determine when Jesus the Son of God

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_02]: when he's going to return but we can determine where he's going to return here

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: on planet earth he'll descend on silver clouds of glory first Thessalonians

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: chapter 4 says the Lord himself will descend with a shout with the voice

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_02]: of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God he's going to come suddenly

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_02]: quickly unexpectedly as you can't determine where lightning strikes you

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_02]: can't determine when Jesus will come back but we do know where he's going to

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_02]: come back he's going to come back here and he'll call us and he'll raise us

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: if he doesn't come back in our lifetime he'll raise us from the dead

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: now here's the correlation from the story I told you originally remember I said my

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_02]: mom said let's get out of here and my dad said yeah honey let's go home when

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Jesus comes back and we lift up our eyes and we see him in the clouds we're

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: gonna say to one another let's get out of here and Jesus will say yeah let's

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_02]: go home especially as chaotic as this world is I can't wait let's get out of

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_02]: here and Jesus say yeah let's go home Matt is today's daily truth have a great
