Kent and Pastor Dave Discuss Proper Attire

[00:00:00] Well, good afternoon, Pastor Dave Ahlman.

[00:00:10] It's been a while.

[00:00:11] Yeah.

[00:00:12] I always enjoy this when we get together because it's only something new.

[00:00:15] You cannot put these great, great, sermons and messages for us.

[00:00:20] And in this one is no different because I can relate to so many of them.

[00:00:24] Especially this one on your sub talking about well, what happens when you show up wearing

[00:00:29] something the wrong thing.

[00:00:31] Either I think, yeah.

[00:00:32] Yeah.

[00:00:33] I remember just a friend of mine when I was on the department.

[00:00:36] His daughter got married and he said well it's going to be an outdoor wedding

[00:00:41] And you know we're up in the mountains.

[00:00:43] I mean also I naturally thought well it's an outdoor wedding.

[00:00:47] I'm going to go in shorts.

[00:00:49] You know?

[00:00:50] And because he said the reception is outside and everything is outside.

[00:00:54] I wouldn't have done that too.

[00:00:55] Yeah.

[00:00:56] You know it was me and one other guy out of all the people that I'm in.

[00:01:01] I showed up in our shorts.

[00:01:04] Yeah.

[00:01:05] In the same room.

[00:01:06] There are people who think green, you know they shake your hand and then they go.

[00:01:11] Yeah, they look down.

[00:01:14] And you know what they're going to do?

[00:01:16] You didn't get to memo.

[00:01:17] You didn't get to know.

[00:01:18] Almost a healthy dress.

[00:01:20] That's right.

[00:01:22] Well, you know, I thought it was you know sometimes my clothes.

[00:01:26] I'm not a big shopper.

[00:01:27] No, I mean either.

[00:01:28] I just thought to that.

[00:01:29] Yeah.

[00:01:30] And some of them are dated.

[00:01:32] So at least we talked about it earlier.

[00:01:36] At least that wasn't like parachute pants.

[00:01:39] But you know some of them are really outdated.

[00:01:42] Nice.

[00:01:43] Some of these guys come to these different events that I go to and wow they're looking pretty

[00:01:47] short.

[00:01:48] Yeah.

[00:01:49] I don't want to look like a book or anything.

[00:01:51] Right.

[00:01:52] Right.

[00:01:53] So you know what I'm going to look as good as you can.

[00:01:54] Yeah, you do.

[00:01:55] Yeah.

[00:01:56] But I love what you're talking about here as far as the what we're going to put on what we're going to put on the garment that we're going to wear for Christ.

[00:02:05] Yes.

[00:02:06] The garment that we're going to wear from hand.

[00:02:08] Yeah.

[00:02:09] And you know one of the things I thought about when you're talking about that you said that the

[00:02:12] the kids if the person showed up with a wrong clothing and things like that they would provide them.

[00:02:17] Yeah.

[00:02:18] Well, the thought came through my small head that are brainer.

[00:02:22] But you know, if we show up on the last day and we don't have the right garment will

[00:02:31] we'll got provided.

[00:02:32] Yeah.

[00:02:33] That's that's that's so good.

[00:02:35] You know it that that's where the analogy kind of falls apart because you're right.

[00:02:42] And I think what we have in front of us is the guy that got booted out he didn't have the right garment on right.

[00:02:48] That's a picture of the end times.

[00:02:50] Right.

[00:02:51] That's it.

[00:02:52] It's a picture of judgment day and there's not going to be an opportunity for people to look at Jesus the King of Kings and say, oh, now I believe in you,

[00:03:00] wrote me in your righteousness right.

[00:03:02] Right.

[00:03:03] It's going to be too late then.

[00:03:04] And so we just say, you know, now is the time to accept Christ.

[00:03:08] Now is the time to come to salvation.

[00:03:10] Of course that's only through the Holy Spirit power.

[00:03:12] Right.

[00:03:13] But but at that time it's too late.

[00:03:16] And I think again in this in this story of this guy showing up who didn't have the proper garment, right, normally you know if you don't have the normal garment in that in that story, they provide it for you.

[00:03:28] But in this case because it's a picture of the end times it's too late.

[00:03:33] If you don't have the righteousness of Christ the judgment day, you're cast out of the wedding feats forever.

[00:03:39] That's frightening.

[00:03:40] It is right.

[00:03:41] It reminds me of the you spoke about when you went to see Noah's arc and that big door that they had a Noah is telling, oh, people for so long.

[00:03:50] Oh, yeah.

[00:03:51] This is what's going to happen.

[00:03:53] And then as the rains came that big door boom.

[00:03:56] Oh, yeah.

[00:03:58] Yeah.

[00:03:59] All those people.

[00:04:00] Yeah.

[00:04:01] We're out there.

[00:04:02] All up behind.

[00:04:03] You know it's funny.

[00:04:04] Funny.

[00:04:06] But it's interesting to me that I just did a D.T. a few days ago about how if people reject Christ,

[00:04:16] they're eternally separated from God, or living in hell.

[00:04:20] And this guy was saying, you know, no, the Jewish people are God's people, you know, everybody, every Jewish person is going to be saved on judgment day because our God's children's people.

[00:04:30] Well, Bible doesn't say that.

[00:04:32] You know, it's only through faith in Jesus, whether you're a Jew or Gentile that causes to be accepted by God, right?

[00:04:38] Yeah.

[00:04:39] So, so that's story and Noah's arc.

[00:04:42] That's a pretty powerful one.

[00:04:43] You know, and for 75 years or whatever it was, Noah preached day, you know, judgment is coming.

[00:04:49] Judgment is coming.

[00:04:50] I think it was 120 years.

[00:04:51] I get that mixed up with a few of those things.

[00:04:53] I think it was 120 years, but he preached for a long time and people, you know, you think about unsuccessful things.

[00:04:59] Unsuccessful preaching?

[00:05:01] Now one convert.

[00:05:03] Right?

[00:05:04] It's a bad record.

[00:05:06] Right?

[00:05:07] I mean, he preached all those years and not one person listened.

[00:05:11] And you wonder what those people were thinking as it started to rain?

[00:05:14] Well, we're kind of from my perspective in the last days when we're seeing floods and tornadoes and earthquakes and people falling away from the faith and all this different kind of thing.

[00:05:24] Well, it seems to be in a spiritual sense raining upon our parade.

[00:05:28] And I think soon Jesus is going to come back and say, it's all over.

[00:05:32] So, so all the more reason for us to get the gospel out because on judgment day, if we don't have the righteousness of Christ with that our possession by faith, it's all over.

[00:05:43] And too late.

[00:05:44] And that's our job, right?

[00:05:45] Yeah.

[00:05:46] Yeah.

[00:05:47] If I was going to a party and I knew you were going to dress unusual, like sometimes I've seen.

[00:05:51] I would tell you.

[00:05:53] No, this is kind of the transphoto.

[00:05:55] This is the dress I will tell you just like we tell others about who I love Christ.

[00:06:00] Oh, I love it.

[00:06:01] This is the dress code.

[00:06:02] Here's the dress code for the final bankwits, right?

[00:06:06] Right?

[00:06:07] Right.

[00:06:08] It's the righteousness of Jesus.

[00:06:09] It's the garment of Christ that is appropriated to us by faith.

[00:06:13] So my friends, if I love what can't say, you know, you think about the Noah's arc thing and the door being closed.

[00:06:20] And people being left out permanently.

[00:06:23] You know, when Christ comes back there's no second chance as we've talked a lot about that on duty, right?

[00:06:29] There's no second chance as so now is the time of salvation.

[00:06:33] Now is the time for us to get the gospel out.

[00:06:35] As you heard and I think my pentacosular sort of in a recent sense, so I'm one of the two, don't wait.

[00:06:40] If there's someone in your life that needs to hear about Jesus, don't hesitate, don't wait.

[00:06:45] And I share the story in one of the D.T.s. can about this guy who I wanted to see who was ready to receive the gospel, right?

[00:06:55] And so I said, okay, well, I'm going to go see him tomorrow, right?

[00:07:00] And so I showed up in nursing homies and in nursing home when I got there he had died.

[00:07:04] Right?

[00:07:05] And I felt so bad.

[00:07:07] And from that day forward, I sent boy if the Lord lays on my heart an opportunity to share the gospel with someone.

[00:07:13] I shouldn't do it.

[00:07:14] Yes.

[00:07:15] Oh, yes.

[00:07:16] Yeah.

[00:07:17] But, you know, how did you know?

[00:07:19] I didn't know.

[00:07:20] Well, God covers this group grace.

[00:07:22] I mean, I knew that, you know, I mean, God forgave me, right?

[00:07:27] Absolutely.

[00:07:28] And I felt horrible.

[00:07:30] But God forgave me and the next time when there is an opportunity for me to share my faith

[00:07:35] boy, I went through the door with open arms.

[00:07:38] Right?

[00:07:39] And I think it's what you don't want to scare people, but you want them to understand that this is how serious this is.

[00:07:45] Yeah, it's very serious.

[00:07:46] Boy, it's so true.

[00:07:48] And so true.

[00:07:49] So I'm focused just, well, that will never get it, I guess.

[00:07:53] But there's all of us that will.

[00:07:56] There's all of us that will and, you know, 1.5 billion people on planet Earth know Jesus.

[00:08:03] Yes.

[00:08:04] But there's what 5.5 billion, the don't, right?

[00:08:08] So, and as Donald Trump says, billions and billions.

[00:08:13] Why have to say, I really enjoy my garment.

[00:08:17] Yeah, there you go.

[00:08:18] I love it.

[00:08:19] I love to be wrote, wrote in the right.

[00:08:21] It's a great garment to wear.

[00:08:24] It is.

[00:08:25] It's a lot better than those parachute pants.

[00:08:27] There you go.

[00:08:28] It's for sure.

[00:08:30] That's for sure.

[00:08:32] Well, it's great.

[00:08:33] It's great seeing you again.

[00:08:35] Looking forward to our next visit.
