[00:00:07] All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction

[00:00:13] and for training and righteousness the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every

[00:00:19] good work. Alright, I'm gonna pray about this message because it's not an easy

[00:00:26] one to proclaim this morning. And so let's go ahead and pray. Lord God Heavenly Father,

[00:00:30] I pray that you anoint this message with the power of your Holy Spirit. On this Trinity

[00:00:35] Sunday we know that you exist Father's Son in Holy Spirit and you speak to us through

[00:00:40] your Word and direct our lives through your Word but also you show us as a culture, as

[00:00:45] a civilization, how life ought to be lived based on your Word. And even your commandments

[00:00:51] are etched and inscribed on the walls of the Supreme Court indicating that the ten commandments

[00:00:58] are a light and a beacon to how life ought to be lived. So Lord anoint this message

[00:01:02] as only you can and may your name be glorified and praised in everything we say and do today

[00:01:07] in the precious name of you, Lord Jesus. We pray all these things amen. In the 1930s

[00:01:15] things were happening dramatically wrong in the country of Germany. Adolf Hitler was

[00:01:21] taking hold and Naziism was predominating the day. So much so that Jewish people as many

[00:01:30] of you know are being persecuted, ostracized, ridiculed, oftentimes imprisoned and in the

[00:01:37] 40s even put to death. Now those were members of the church and especially the clergy

[00:01:44] in the Lutheran Church. And by the way, the church of Germany at that time was a Lutheran

[00:01:49] church and the government and the Lutheran Church were united and all these horrible things

[00:01:53] were happening in Germany and Adolf Hitler's reign was taking hold and yet the church

[00:02:00] and especially the spiritual leaders, the pastors were silent. In say word they recognize

[00:02:13] the things were happening in the culture that were vehemently opposed to the Word of God

[00:02:18] that Adolf Hitler's regime was tyrannical and dictatorial and yet and so many people are

[00:02:25] being persecuted and even put to death as a result of it but the church was silent. I read

[00:02:35] a book recently by Eric Metaxis who is a strong Christian pastor and he talked about how things

[00:02:43] are degrading and eroding here in the United States culturally and morally and unless pastors

[00:02:50] take a stand on the Word of God and thus say this is what the Word of God says, this is how

[00:02:56] life ought to be lived. This is what's happening in our culture or culture is morally degrading,

[00:03:01] going down the wrong path and unless pastors he says stand up today the same thing could happen

[00:03:07] in the United States that happened in Nazi Germany in the 1930s and 40s and you might be saying

[00:03:13] really is that true? Could that really happen? Absolutely and so we're going to be looking at

[00:03:21] three issues today and unfortunately the screen in the back isn't working but here's the

[00:03:26] first issue and I encourage you to take notes okay here's the first issue the Bible and our

[00:03:32] culture today is saying to us the Bible is not the Word of God it's not. Now there used to be a time

[00:03:41] when generally speaking most people in America thought the Bible was the Word of God but today

[00:03:48] most folks believe it's just listen to this it's just another book it's like Homer's Iliad

[00:03:54] and Odyssey it's like Mark Twain's books it doesn't rule and guide us in the way life ought to

[00:04:00] be lived and as a result of that because so many may listen to this so many mainline churches

[00:04:06] have taken the perspective that the Bible in its entirety is not the Word of God that's why you

[00:04:11] have some mainline churches today that elevate gay Sunday and pro choice Sunday and things like that

[00:04:19] why is that because a lot of our culture believes that the Bible like I said before is just another book

[00:04:26] and not a rule in source and guide from God inspiring us leading us and showing us how to live

[00:04:34] now what do we say as a culture we say the Bible is God's Word and here's the passage that I

[00:04:41] quoted before I want you to go ahead and read this with me if you would all scripture go ahead and

[00:04:46] read it with me all scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, revoking, correcting,

[00:04:53] and training, and righteousness and then the next part of it says that the man of God or woman of God

[00:04:58] might be thoroughly equipped for every good work what is this saying this saying that the Word of God

[00:05:05] teaches us the source of salvation that there's only one way to eternal life as you heard me say

[00:05:11] boldly last week that there's only one way to heaven and that's through faith in Jesus Christ

[00:05:16] there's not many different ways so the Bible's main purpose is to make us wise into salvation

[00:05:22] to teach us there were saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone but listen to this

[00:05:27] the Bible also teaches us how life ought to be lived not just for us as followers of Jesus

[00:05:37] but a compass and a guide and a leader for how cultures get along this is why as I said before

[00:05:44] I think of my prayer that the 10 commandments are inscribed in the walls of the Supreme Court

[00:05:50] and the morality that's indicated in the 10 commandments is in every religion

[00:05:56] but yet so many people dismiss neglect and ignore the teachings of God's Word and because of that

[00:06:04] we're running a mock morally in the United States we are in a post-Christian culture

[00:06:11] in a culture that is entitled post modernism which basically means the Bible and it's authority

[00:06:18] is neglected, abused and ignored and if that happens what happens to a culture pretty much people dictate

[00:06:28] and determine from their own perspective what's right and what's wrong

[00:06:34] and so that brings us then to the second issue.

[00:06:41] January identification I never thought I would see this happen in the United States of America

[00:06:49] but our culture basically says it's fine no problem this is why teachers being told to not

[00:06:59] categorize kids as boys and girls in school but rather rather they or it this is why

[00:07:08] kindergarteners in some places here in the United States are being told by their teachers what

[00:07:14] gender do you want to be a boy or a girl and I'm going what and so there's a lot of confusion today

[00:07:21] regarding what is a boy what is a girl and that's reinforced by the secular media

[00:07:28] and the secular social media and so what you have as a result of that is just a mismatch

[00:07:35] regarding genderism and that's very very unfortunate and so what happens when that occurs

[00:07:44] there's no clarity there's no boundaries there's no clear delineation of what is fair

[00:07:52] and what is foul what's right and what is not because of people determine that this is right

[00:07:57] if our culture is saying this is how life ought to be lived poor kids grow up in a culture thinking

[00:08:03] hey I really don't know what's right and I'm going to determine as life goes on if I want to be a

[00:08:09] boy or girl this is ridiculous folks this is what the word of God says about that word of God

[00:08:15] says it's not fine and here's the passage that I want you to look at so God created mankind

[00:08:22] in the image of God he created them and then what's this say male and female he created them

[00:08:34] so our gender is identified at the moment of conception and then it's publicly declared when the

[00:08:44] baby is born you never hear a father or mother show off their baby to their parents or their

[00:08:52] grandparents and say it's an it or not sure what it is it's a matter of fact this is kind of funny

[00:09:03] secular media person went to the dance jungles of Africa to ask by the way the same question was asked

[00:09:10] in New York City Madison Avenue and the answer is that this guy God we're just crazy right

[00:09:15] but he asked these people in the dance jungles of Africa what's a man and what's a woman and

[00:09:22] do you know what they did they started laughing this one guy said you don't know man

[00:09:31] right how ridiculous is this and yet the word of God says so clearly Jesus reiterated it

[00:09:40] and by the way this is the problem with our culture today many people don't believe the Bible is a

[00:09:45] word of God and they don't believe that Jesus is a son of God and so if the Bible is the word of God

[00:09:51] and Jesus is not the son of God you determine what's right and wrong but Jesus said here haven't

[00:09:55] you ready replied that at the beginning the creator made the male and female huh well be so when

[00:10:05] it comes to gender re-identification it's outside the boundaries of God's word now here's the

[00:10:12] problem and I'm not trying to brag when I say this but most pastors will not talk about this stuff

[00:10:21] they'll ignore it with a 10 foot pole do you know why it's controversial and I believe I made

[00:10:30] a confession to the Lord when I was ordained that I was gonna preach and teach the word of God in

[00:10:36] its entirety but I wouldn't sugarcoat things and ignore things and just hope that somehow people

[00:10:45] get it because if we as rods that's so beautifully if we as a church as cultural voices in the

[00:10:51] midst of the cultural mud today if we as a church do not speak on these issues how will people

[00:10:57] ever know amen and you're not gonna hear it on CNN you're not gonna hear it from the secular

[00:11:06] media you're surely not gonna get it through the songs that we see or the movies that we see

[00:11:12] today unless they're by Christians and even Christians sometimes are afraid to take his stand

[00:11:17] on the word of God and unless people adhere to and undergird their lives with the word of God

[00:11:24] things will continue to run a mock here in the United States so that's the second issue gender

[00:11:31] re-identification and then the third issue is this same-sex marriage and the culture says it's fine

[00:11:38] yep so matter fact um I've here see some of the commercials now you know they have husbands

[00:11:48] and husbands holding hands and sometimes even kissing HGTV got quarter the times when they're going

[00:11:55] on house hunters it's a husband and a husband or a wife and a wife and people just kind of say oh no

[00:12:01] big deal hmm Harrison Bucker if you heard him he's a kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs and he was

[00:12:11] advocating a college a Catholic college Catholic University the truths of God's word and what

[00:12:17] God's words says about these issues and he was ostracized review, ridiculed, rejected and made fun of

[00:12:25] hmm why is that because it's not popular to say those things so what does the word of God say

[00:12:34] about that the word says it's not fine because this is what marriage is all about.

[00:12:38] Marriage is established by God and Genesis that is why a man leaves his father and mother

[00:12:45] and as you united to his husband and as united to his wife and they become one flesh.

[00:12:55] Marriage is this a lifelong union and commitment established by God between a man and a

[00:13:03] let me say that again it's God's idea marriage is God's idea not man's idea and when God is

[00:13:11] established marriage through Adam and Eve he said be fruitful and multiplied this is why

[00:13:16] it's a blessing to have kids I'm not saying you're not a Christian if you don't have kids but

[00:13:21] the Lord told Adam and Eve hey be fruitful multiply have a lot of kids so large families are

[00:13:26] perfectly okay there's a matter of fact my brother had six kids maybe I told you this and he had six

[00:13:33] kids and they were all like 12 down to two or whatever it was and he was at an airport and

[00:13:38] hadn't seen a buddy of his for years and this guy came up to him and he said how it's so good

[00:13:43] to see how you do any said fine and then this guy said I hear that you have six kids

[00:13:49] that's great and my brother said you think so I don't hear that very often usually I hear just the

[00:13:59] opposite and the other guy said I think it's great I have 10 kids I wish I had six oh man you see what I'm

[00:14:15] saying this is this is how life ought to be lived and this isn't just for Christians guys

[00:14:22] I mean our country was founded and yes some of them were deus I understand but our country was

[00:14:27] founded on the principles in guiding and leading and sustaining of the word of God and we've run so far

[00:14:34] away from it the people are wandering like Pontius Pilate what is truth and truth begins in

[00:14:49] hands with the word truth begins in hands with the Bible the authentic inerrant spirit driven

[00:14:58] Word of God that tells us not only how to be saved but how life ought to be lived and that is to

[00:15:03] permeate every culture on planet earth so all of this when glad I'm done with this now you know I'm

[00:15:10] almost done now it's the good part right okay so I know I'm among friends here today and I know

[00:15:15] from people are gonna watch this maybe on on the median so forth I'm gonna get letters and emails and

[00:15:21] all that kind of stuff but still we as a church need to stand on the principles of God's Word and

[00:15:26] and do what well let's go ahead and look at it we already looked at that passage let's go ahead

[00:15:30] what do we do about this first of all we speak out what does that mean to speak out that means when

[00:15:37] you're in a conversation about something like this you you speak with the word of God says now

[00:15:44] I've got to say this I know people that are they're gay they're married I know almost sexual

[00:15:49] people I don't cast to get them criticize or to give or to beat them I don't say what's wrong with you

[00:15:55] but what I do say is I can't agree with that lifestyle and God wants something different for you

[00:16:01] based on the word of God I love you I care for you but it is listen to this and I believe this

[00:16:07] is true it is so unloving if we don't speak the truth and love to people when they're going

[00:16:13] in air path it's not loving because somehow in some way they need to hear the truth of how

[00:16:20] life ought to be lived and unless we speak out in these situations who will so the first thing

[00:16:30] as we speak out and secondly we pray for revival now you're probably wondering well past your day

[00:16:36] that's that's a 30,000 foot prayer isn't it yes but it's needed here in America it's needed really

[00:16:42] across across the plains in the mountains it's needed all across the United States it's

[00:16:47] needed an entire world why do you say to pray for revival here's why because when people come

[00:16:52] to know Jesus Christ they are convicted based on the word of God they're convicted of their sin

[00:16:57] they put their trust in Jesus and now they ask how then should I live my life what does God want

[00:17:05] for me what's his intention for me and we hold up the word of God and we say this is how life

[00:17:10] ought to be lived we submit to him we submit to his counsel and guidance and direction

[00:17:16] reveal in the word of God and so you see when people and by the way millions of stories can be told

[00:17:22] of people who are in trechts and homosexuality who are converted to Christianity and did it

[00:17:27] about face regarding their lifestyle the spirit of God lived in them and when the spirit of God

[00:17:33] lives in us amazing things can happen in an individual life and so we pray for revival

[00:17:42] that the Holy Spirit might be unleashed upon planet Earth but especially here in the United

[00:17:48] States that people are convicted of their sin and Bryce Christ is Savior asked the question how now

[00:17:54] should I live and we show them you live it through the standard and guiding principles of God's word

[00:18:02] this is why revival is needed in America this used to be a Bible based Christian country

[00:18:11] but it's not anymore and we get back to point one why is that because so many

[00:18:16] many people just neglect the teachings the guiding principles of the word of God there used to be

[00:18:29] a show called back to the Bible do we need that in America or what back to the Bible
