Jesus Means What He Says | Matthew 26:34

[00:00:07] Everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. Jesus means what He says. We're in Matthew chapter 26 and Jesus has said that all of His disciples will fall away like a shepherd when it's nailed, all the sheep will be scattered. And then of course Peter says, all these other guys fall away. I never will. And then this is what Jesus says in verse 34.

[00:00:30] Truly I tell you, this very night before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times. Did that happen? Yes, it did. Because Jesus means what He says. Sure enough, just a few hours later, Peter had every opportunity to defend Jesus, but did not, would not, could not because of his sin nature. And exactly what Jesus said would happen, would happen.

[00:00:58] Jesus means what He says. He said that He was going to be crucified on a cross. And He was. Jesus means what He says. He said He was going to rise again from the dead. And He did. Jesus means what He says. When He ascended up into heaven, the angels said, hey, He's going to return. That which has gone up must come down.

[00:01:20] Jesus means what He says. If you repent and believe in Jesus Christ, all your sins are forgiven and you're going to go to heaven.

[00:01:31] Jesus means what He says. If you're afraid of losing your faith, He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[00:01:40] In other words, you have the Holy Spirit's power to solidify, strengthen, and feed your faith so that you run the race to eternal life to completion.

[00:01:49] Jesus means what He says. You have Christ's presence in the face of every adversity, every struggle, every trouble that you face in life.

[00:01:59] Jesus means what He says. And finally, Christ someday is going to return.

[00:02:05] And when He returns, He will take us home, both body and soul, to live with Him forever.

[00:02:11] Forever! Why is that? Because Jesus means what He says.

[00:02:17] My friends, you can depend on the Lord Jesus Christ. You can depend on Him for salvation.

[00:02:23] You can depend on Him for strength. You can depend on Him when struggles are coming your way,

[00:02:29] to give you perseverance, to see your way through it by the power and strength that He gives.

[00:02:34] Jesus means what He says. He never breaks promises.

[00:02:38] Think of the people around you who have broken promises down through the years.

[00:02:42] Maybe a spouse. Maybe a child. Maybe a parent. Maybe the government.

[00:02:47] I mean, nobody tells the truth completely.

[00:02:50] Nobody always fulfills what they're going to say.

[00:02:53] We all are fallible, error-prone people who oftentimes break our promises.

[00:02:58] But Jesus never does because I'm not talking about daily conjectures.

[00:03:04] I'm talking about daily truths that we have through the Word of God.

[00:03:09] Jesus always fulfills His promises.

[00:03:11] Jesus means what He says.

[00:03:14] So every promise that Jesus gives in Scripture,

[00:03:18] you can rest assured that He means what He says,

[00:03:21] and He will fulfill what He says.

[00:03:24] He will deliver what He promises.

[00:03:27] So rest easy, my friend.

[00:03:29] Trust in the Lord.

[00:03:31] Take all your worries and concerns to Him,

[00:03:33] and He will carry them.

[00:03:35] Why?

[00:03:35] Because Jesus means what He says.

[00:03:42] He's a promise keeper, not a promise breaker.

[00:03:47] And that is today's Daily Truth.
