[00:00:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody welcome back today, Leach Truths

[00:00:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you sometimes feel like you're not good enough to go to heaven?

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_01]: You compare your life to the 10 commandments and you say that's not good

[00:00:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I sure they haven't kept those very well

[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: You compare your life to other people that you know are really committed Christians

[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to a lady yesterday from Mount Hope Church

[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_01]: She is so committed to Christ and Jesus's Scripture is regularly

[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's such a dynamic witness for the Lord

[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_01]: We sometimes compare ourselves to other people and we say, boy

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I surely don't compare myself

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't compare to that kind of commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_01]: We hope that somehow God might grade on a curve thinking that maybe we're better than most

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_01]: We look at this parable, the parable, the 10 virgins

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And remember the 10 virgins trimmed their lance

[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And we're ready for the bridegroom to show up at any time, however, he terried

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: And he didn't show up till midnight and the five foolish virgins

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Remember, didn't have oil for their lamp

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And they wanted to borrow some from the other five virgins

[00:01:06] [SPEAKER_01]: They said no then we won't have enough

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So they go and try to get some oil and by the time they show up

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: The bridegroom is appeared and taken the rest all the way to the banquet

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: To the feast and they knocked on the door

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And this is where we pick it up after we're the other virgins

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Came also saying Lord, open the door to us

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But he answered, truly I say to you, I do not know you

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Watch there for for you, no need of the day

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Nor the hour

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not that the other virgins of five foolish virgins weren't good enough

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_01]: To go to the feast

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not that

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_01]: The problem was they didn't have any oil in their lamp

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: And the oil is the word of God

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: And the lamp is one's faith

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And without faith in Christ, there is no salvation

[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Listen to me when I say this

[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Our lives are not good enough to earn salvation for ourselves

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Why?

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Because our lives are tainted by sin

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: But Jesus Christ was good enough to come to this world

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And keep the commandments we broken

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_01]: He was good enough to sacrifice himself

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: On the tree of the cross for the sins we've committed

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: He was good enough to conquer death for us through his resurrection

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: The death that we're going to experience

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Because of our sin, the wages of sin is death

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Jesus Christ was good enough to earn salvation for you, my friend

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And by faith and faith alone in him

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: You have it

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_01]: The Bible says for by grace are we saved through faith

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: And this not of ourselves, it is the gift of God

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Not of works so that none of us can brag about it

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Salvation is found in no one else

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_01]: For there's no other name given among men

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Peter said by which we must be saved

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Except the saving name of Jesus Christ

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Jesus Christ is not one of the ways to heaven

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: He is the way, the truth and the life

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Peter said, repent and be baptized

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Every one of you for the remission of sins

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_01]: For salvation is only rooted in him

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: We're not good enough to get to heaven

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: We're not good enough to earn salvation

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Our lives are tainted as I said before

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: By our sinful condition

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And no matter how hard we try

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_01]: To appease the wrath of God and earn our ticket to heaven

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We can't do it because we fall short

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Of the standard of God's word

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We fall short of the glory of God

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_01]: We are sinful, my friends

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And we have good intentions of trying to do the right thing

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And avoid the wrong thing

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes at the end of the day

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: We say God be merciful to me

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: That's enough, matter of fact

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I say that every day

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Because my life is not the way it should be

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I was more committed to Christ

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I was a better Christian

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I didn't war for the kingdom of God

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm doing the best I can

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And here's the thing

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So are you

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: But your sin is going to antagonize you

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_01]: The rest of your life

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I've talked to some people who say

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I'm so committed to Christ

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't sin anymore

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: What?

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, who says that?

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Well there's a lot of people that say that

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_01]: There's a holiness movement

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_01]: In some churches where by they say you can grow so much

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Your sanctification

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: That you're not tempted anymore and you don't sin

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Well our lives are tainted by sin

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll never get rid of it

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Jesus was good enough to earn salvation for you

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_01]: My friends, my faith

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Take the hand of the Lord Jesus Christ

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And let him lead you home

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: You see that's the purpose of daily truths

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: The ultimate purpose of daily truths

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Is to preach the gospel

[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: To share the good news of God's love for us in Jesus Christ

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And the word is powerful

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And the world needs the word

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_01]: The pure undulterated doctrine of God's word

[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: That we're saved by faith in Jesus alone

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Man, oh man, I'm glad that Christ came to save me

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Are you?

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad that you did everything necessary

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_01]: To win salvation for me and he did it for you as well

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I can smile

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And I can relax

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And I can rejoice

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And I can celebrate in the relationship I have with God

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_01]: You're faith in Jesus

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm absolutely sure

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And certain that the moment I die

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I will be ushered into the presence of God forever

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Why?

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Because I've been a good guy, no

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm a good person

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Why try?

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_01]: But I still sin

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: No, the reason I'm saved

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Is because Jesus did it all for me

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And he did it all for you

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_01]: So sit back

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Relax

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Know that you're saved by God's grace

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Not by what you do or not do

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Not by how you live or not live

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You're saved by grace alone

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_01]: In that great news

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And that is today's daily truth

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ
