Matthew 26:25-26 - So often we focus on what we wish we had instead of what we already have in Christ.

[00:00:01] Real Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman.
[00:00:07] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. Do you sometimes think, you know, I don't have much,
[00:00:11] I don't have a large house, I don't have a nice car, I don't have a lot of friends,
[00:00:16] I don't live in a nice neighborhood, you know, there's a lot of things I wish I had that I don't,
[00:00:21] I haven't accomplished much, my life doesn't really have a lot of purpose, and on and on and on.
[00:00:26] Sometimes we can kind of get in this, oh woe is me kind of mood, you know, like, oh I don't have anything,
[00:00:32] and nothing ever goes right, and that kind of thing. Think about Judas, listen to this,
[00:00:35] this is found in the book of Matthew, chapter 26, verses 24 and 25. This is what it says,
[00:00:43] The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, we said that a couple of days ago,
[00:00:47] but woe to the man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man
[00:00:53] if he had not been born. Judas, who would betray him, answered,
[00:00:59] Is it I, Rabbi? In other words, am I the one that's going to betray you? And Jesus said to him,
[00:01:04] You have said so. Man, oh man, you think about what Judas had. He was following the King of Kings,
[00:01:11] might have known Jesus as Savior, Lord, Redeemer, and King, might have even confessed him,
[00:01:16] but now in these latter days, things didn't look so good for him, right? Things didn't go well for him.
[00:01:23] He betrayed Jesus, he committed suicide, he died without faith, and he faced eternal damnation.
[00:01:30] He lost it all. But what about you? You believe in Christ. You're living for him. You're serving
[00:01:40] Christ by serving others, and you're going to spend eternity in heaven. So think about that. So the next
[00:01:48] time you think, I don't have much, think about this. You might say, well, you know, I don't have a lot
[00:01:54] of material possessions, and I haven't had very much success in my life, and you know, my kids didn't
[00:02:00] try, all this kind of stuff. We so often can look at the negative part of life, and think about Judas.
[00:02:06] I mean, he lost it all. You have Christ. You've got it all. You've got it all. And so many times we put
[00:02:15] so much emphasis on the things that we can't take with us. You can only take one thing with you.
[00:02:22] That's your faith intact in the Lord Jesus Christ. So in many ways, you've got it all, and you're
[00:02:33] blessed. Thanks be to God you know Jesus. Thanks be to God you're living for Jesus. Thanks be to God
[00:02:40] you're serving the Lord Jesus by serving others. Thanks be to God that someday you're going to spend
[00:02:45] eternity in heaven with our Lord Jesus. Why is that? Because you have saving faith. In so many ways,
[00:02:52] you've got it all. So don't feel sorry for yourself today. Go about the work that the Lord has entrusted
[00:02:59] you to do. Don't focus on the things you don't have. Focus on what you do have. And if you have
[00:03:06] Christ, you've got a lot. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ. And that is today's Daily Truth.
