[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman.
[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. I have to admit that I've not really preached
[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_00]: down through the years much about what's going to happen if we use our Gifts and Talents,
[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_00]: what's going to happen on Judgment Day when Christ comes back. So we're going to answer
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_00]: that question today. If you're using your gifts and talents, the glorify God to extend
[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_00]: this kingdom and to serve other people in love, what's going to be the response on Judgment Day
[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_00]: when our Lord Jesus returns? Well, to answer that question, we go to Matthew chapter 25 verses
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_00]: 19 through verse 23. Now after a long time, the Master of those servants came and said,
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_00]: oh, the counts with them. And he would receive the five talents, came forward, bringing
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: five talents more and saying, Master, you delivered to me five talents. Here I've made
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: two talents. Here I have made two talents more. His Master said to him, well done, good
[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and faithful servant. You've been faithful over a little. I will set you over much, enter
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: into the joy of your master. And he also had two talents. The one who had two talents
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: came forward saying, Master, you delivered to me two talents. Here I have made two talents
[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_00]: more. His Master said to him, well done, good and faithful servant. You've been faithful
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: over a little. I will set you over much, enter the joy of your Master. Now what's the application
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_00]: here? Okay, the application is pretty clear. Jesus is left. He's up in heaven. He gives
[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_00]: us gifts and where to utilize those gifts to glorify God to extend His kingdom and to serve
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: one another in love when Christ comes back as we view those gifts. To bless the body
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: of Christ, there will be accountability. We will give an account to the Lord regarding how
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: we've utilized our gifts and if we use them well, what are we going to receive affirmation
[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: from the Father? Well done, the good and faithful servant. Right? And then there's going
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: to be a reward. Listen to that. In the text, the one who had been set over a little, he said
[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: you're going to be set over much. Now what that means for us in the eternal kingdom
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_00]: when Christ comes back, I'm really not sure what that means but it does mean we will
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_00]: be rewarded for utilizing the gifts and talents that God has given us to glorify Him. There
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: will be affirmation and there will be accountability obviously that we give affirmation
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and then there's going to be a reward regarding that. And again, what that looks like
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not really sure but also what was the Master's response as the talents have been
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00]: utilized by these guys in this text? It brought joy to the Master. So it's going to be
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_00]: well pleasing to God the Father and God the Son when we give an account, He gives the affirmation
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_00]: and we please Him. Enter the joy of your Master that means God is pleased with us as we utilize
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: our gifts. Now tomorrow we're going to be talking about what happens if we don't use them.
[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But let this just be a word of affirmation and encouragement to you. If you've been given
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: gifts and you're utilizing them well done, that would be a good and faithful servant.
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what you're going to hear on judgment day when Christ comes back. What about
[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: those who have been given gifts? And I'm especially talking to you folks who are retired,
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_00]: right? What about those who have been given gifts and pretty much put them on the shelf
[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_00]: instead of kind of done that? I'm over with that. I'm going to let other people serve. No,
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_00]: retire from Kingdom work. We've talked about that before. Okay? So bottom line of this is you've
[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_00]: been given gifts, utilize them to glorify God and there's going to be great pleasure in heaven when
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Jesus and the Father returns to take us home. It will bring great pleasure to them. And that's really
[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_00]: again. Oh, I got forgot to save this. You might be thinking, okay, now wait a minute. We're not
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: saved by our talents and gifts being utilized, right? Pastor. That's exactly right. We're
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_00]: saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone but the result of that is given gifts by God
[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: having been given gifts by God. The result of that is to utilize those gifts to glorify Him.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_00]: That's the result of the salvation that we've been given in Christ. So bottom line is use your gifts.
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And have fun doing it and remember it'll put a smile on God's face, a smile on Jesus face
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_00]: when he returns. And that is today's daily truth. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
