[00:00:00] We'll truth, Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman
[00:01:00] We're not divisive, he was always kind of a glue for our team. He was an amazing guy.
[00:01:05] He was so thankful to be on our team and the fruit that he produced, meaning kindness and
[00:01:11] love and caring and encouragement and just being there for the team and being there for
[00:01:16] each team. That's what he did. He was so glad to be included. He did whatever he could
[00:01:22] help us win. Now the Denver Nuggets have a similar kind of player. His name is Deandrey
[00:01:27] Jordan and he never gets to play especially during the playoffs, but he is the glue of the
[00:01:32] team. He too feels so blessed to be on the team and the byproduct of that is he's going
[00:01:38] to do whatever he can to help the team win. Now remember when Jesus drink Holy Week stood
[00:01:45] in front of the Sadducees, Pharisees and scribes and basically said, I'm the Messiah, but
[00:01:52] you guys have rejected me as a matter of fact we talked about a couple days ago. This
[00:01:56] verse from the Old Testament that Jesus quoted, the stone which the builders rejected
[00:02:01] has become the very cornerstone. In other words, the Jewish leaders in Jesus' day did not
[00:02:08] recognize or praise Jesus as the promise Messiah. They rejected him and this is what Jesus
[00:02:15] says about that. Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you
[00:02:21] and given to a people producing its fruit. What was Jesus talking about there? He was
[00:02:27] basically saying the chosen people, the Jewish nation and its leaders by and large have
[00:02:34] rejected me as Savior and Messiah. And so their rejection means the inclusion of others,
[00:02:42] namely the Gentiles who are connected to Jesus and bear fruit for the kingdom of heaven.
[00:02:50] What does that mean bearing fruit? Practicing good works, being kind and caring and loving
[00:02:55] and forgiving and generous and all these different things that go hand in hand with being
[00:03:00] a follower of Jesus. Jesus was basically saying, you have rejected me, Jewish nation. I
[00:03:07] turn to the Gentiles, this is what Paul said as well. I turn to the Gentiles and they will
[00:03:11] accept and believe in me and they will produce fruit in their lives as a result of that.
[00:03:18] Us, I know I'm speaking to many of you here today who are Gentiles. But you believe in Jesus.
[00:03:26] We're not part of the chosen people of God. We're Johnny Cum Blatley's grafted onto the vine
[00:03:31] as a result of all these spirits working our life. Now what do we do? We bear fruit for
[00:03:38] the kingdom of God like Russ Doss, like Deondrae Jordan. We're glad to be on the team and we'll
[00:03:46] do whatever we can to help the team win. That means we'll do whatever we can to serve the Lord
[00:03:52] by serving others and making Jesus known. So here's the bottom line of this devotion today.
[00:03:59] You are connected to Jesus. We are Johnny Cum Blatley's as Gentiles, but we are trusting in him
[00:04:06] as Savior and Lord. And the byproduct of that is we'll do whatever we can to serve him. We'll
[00:04:12] do whatever we can to quote help the team win. Right? So thank God today, your child of God,
[00:04:21] you're an heir of the kingdom, you believe in Jesus and wherever you go, whatever you do,
[00:04:27] let your light shine today be salt to the earth bare fruit for the kingdom of God.
[00:04:34] And that is today's daily truth. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
