What is Jesus Doing for You Right Now? | Matthew 26:64

[00:00:07] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. I want to ask you a question, what is Jesus doing for you

[00:00:12] right now in heaven? What's he doing for you at this precise moment? We're in the book of Matthew

[00:00:20] chapter 26. Remember Jesus is before Caiaphas and the religious leaders and Caiaphas has asked him,

[00:00:27] we talked about this yesterday, are you the son of God? And Jesus said, yes it is so. Now he says this,

[00:00:35] Jesus says this, but I tell you from now on you will see the son of man seated at the right end of power

[00:00:42] and coming on the clouds of heaven. Let's take that apart. First of all he says, see I tell you from now

[00:00:48] on you will see the son of man. This is a special designation that Jesus indeed according to the

[00:00:54] book of Daniel is the son of God, son of God, son of man. He's declaring himself to be the promised

[00:01:00] Messiah. So from now on you'll see the son of man seated at the right hand of power. In other words,

[00:01:06] I'm going to be crucified today and then three days later on Sunday I'm going to rise again from the

[00:01:12] dead. I'm going to hang out for 40 days then I'm going to ascend up into heaven seated on the right

[00:01:17] hand of power. So Jesus is saying the next time you guys hear about me or see me after my crucifixion,

[00:01:23] is I'm going to be alive and then I'm going to ascend up in heaven at the right hand of God. Wow.

[00:01:30] What a statement that is, right? So he's saying you're going to see my power displayed when I rise

[00:01:35] and ascend up into heaven. And then he says, but I'll tell you from now on you'll see the son of man

[00:01:40] seated at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven. He's talking about his second

[00:01:45] coming then. He's saying as a cloud signifies the power of God, he's going to come back in a cloud,

[00:01:51] right? To judge all mankind. And what will the judgment be based on? Whether people have accepted

[00:01:58] and acknowledge him as Messiah or not. He's specifically talking about, according to the

[00:02:02] book of Revelation, that he's going to be judging those who are responsible for his crucifixion,

[00:02:07] namely the Jewish religious leaders at that time. So wow, what a statement Jesus is saying. He's

[00:02:14] declaring himself to be the Messiah. He's saying, I'm going to die, rise again, and ascend up into heaven.

[00:02:20] And then I'm coming back to take my people home. What a statement. Now, what is Jesus doing for you

[00:02:26] right now? Since he died, rose again, and is ascended, what is he doing for you right now?

[00:02:32] Romans chapter eight, verse 34 says this, who is it that condemns Christ Jesus who died more than that,

[00:02:40] who is raised to life, is at the right hand of God interceding for us? What? What is Jesus doing

[00:02:48] for you right now? First of all, he's praying to the father in your behalf, any situation, any challenge,

[00:02:54] any problem, any difficulty you're facing, Jesus is bringing that before the throne of God, the father.

[00:03:00] How cool is that? But not only that, every time you mess up, every time you sin, Jesus is going

[00:03:08] before the throne of God, the father saying, father, I died for that. I paid the penalty for that sin.

[00:03:15] And as a result of what I've done, you can, and you must forgive. That's the pact. That's the deal.

[00:03:22] And God, the father does. So think about this. Jesus is constantly interceding for you,

[00:03:29] bringing all your concerns before the throne room of God. Secondly, he's also interceding for you in

[00:03:35] that he's telling God, the father stating to God, the father, I died for that. We forgive.

[00:03:41] And what does God, the father do based on the finished work of Christ at the cross? God,

[00:03:47] the father listens to the son who is interceding in your behalf, pleading before the throne room of

[00:03:53] God in your behalf regarding your sin. And the father does will and will continue to forgive your

[00:04:00] sin. How cool is that? A lot of times we think of Jesus, obviously up in heaven. We think he's present

[00:04:07] with us every day and he is, but he's also up in heaven doing a job for you. And a lot of times we

[00:04:13] forget that. So Jesus is standing here before campus and the religious leaders saying, I'm the Christ.

[00:04:20] I'm going to die and rise again and ascend up into heaven. And I'm going to come back

[00:04:25] to judge all mankind. And what's he doing for us? In the meantime, the very thing I said. So be

[00:04:32] comforted by that today. Be assured of Christ's presence in your life every day and know indeed

[00:04:37] that he's praying for you to the father, but also know indeed that he's interceding in your behalf

[00:04:44] about your sin so that the father indeed based on the finished work of Christ does and will and will

[00:04:50] continue to forgive. And that is today's daily truth. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
