[00:00:00] We'll Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman So good about Good Friday. Well answer that question. I want to ask you a question this morning. What do you deserve? Because of your sin. What do I deserve? Because of my sin. We deserve
[00:00:48] this. Total separation from God. We deserve life and hell. Now we go back 2,000 years ago to that first Good Friday. And Jesus walks up the Viedela Rosa carrying across. He's nailed to it. He's suspended between heaven and earth. He says amazing things like Father forgive
[00:01:08] them. They don't know what they're doing. He looks upon his mom and he says, John, take care of my mom. He gives eternal life or paradise to a thief that was penitent. And then
[00:01:19] He says these words, my God, my God. Why have you forsaken me? And the answer to Jesus God from the Father was stunned silence. He heard nothing. God had turned his back on his only begotten son. He rejected Jesus who became sin for us. Total abandonment from
[00:01:45] the Father Jesus experienced hell on that cross for you and me, my friend. He was rejected by men and even rejected by the Father. He became sin who knows sin so that we might
[00:02:00] become the righteousness of God in him taking our place, taking the wrath of God, experiencing the pangs of hell on that cross for you and me. That's what Jesus did. That's why he died
[00:02:14] to take our place, to become our substitute, to make full attombed for our sin, rejected by God the Father, experiencing hell on that cross for you and me. And as Jesus cried out, God where are you? And you're nothing. God the Father rejected and abandoned his son
[00:02:36] on the cross, allowing him to go through the pangs of hell so that we would never be abandoned by God. He is with us all the time. He says, fear not, I'm with you. Be not dismayed. I'm your
[00:02:51] God. I will strengthen you, uphold you, and hold you with my righteous right hand when Jesus promised His disciples at the end of His ministry. Low on with you always, even at the very end of the
[00:03:03] age, it wasn't just something that was a promise for them. It was a promise for us too. How wonderful it is to know that nothing, nothing, nothing could separate us from the love of God.
[00:03:19] And St Paul talks about that. At Romans chapter 80 says, we'll shall separate us from the love of Christ. Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or parallel sort, no one all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I'm convinced
[00:03:35] that neither depth nor life nor angels nor principalities, or things present or powers nor height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God
[00:03:46] in Christ Jesus our Lord, my friends. You have an inseparable bond with God through faith in Jesus Christ. He was abandoned for you on the cross. You are never abandoned by God. This is why we
[00:04:00] call it good Friday. Good for us horrible for the Son of God. But as a result of what Jesus has done, our sins are forgiven and heaven is open to us because He experienced hell on that
[00:04:16] cross in our place. What is good Friday mean to you? I would love to hear you comment about this message today and to hear what you think good Friday means to you because that's what it means to me
[00:04:31] all so much more. I could talk on all the other six words that Jesus uttered from the cross. But that one to me is most significant. He went to the cross and experienced hell for me so that I never
[00:04:44] will. Sometimes we hear people say about other people go to hell. Boy those words hurt don't they? Jesus did that for us not only experiencing the wrath of God and total separation from the father,
[00:05:02] but He descended into hell to proclaim victory over death, victory over Satan himself. And now we have this incredible, this amazing, this astounding relationship with God. No wonder we call it good Friday. Good Friday. Indeed. That is today's daily truth. I'd like to hear what
[00:05:33] good Friday means to you. Today's daily truth have a great good Friday in Jesus Christ. Thank you for tuning in to daily truths with Dave Olman. Master Dave Olman is the pastor of Mount Hochurch in Boulder, Colorado. If you feel led, would you consider giving to this ministry?
