[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman.
[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: The Master gives talents, one guy S5, he doubles it, the other guy S2, he doubles it, the
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_01]: one guy S1 and he buries it, doesn't even invest it. And now we have to give account
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_01]: to the master for what he's done. And we pick up verse 28, the Master says this, and
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: you ought to have invested my money with the bankers. And at my coming I should receive what
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_01]: was my own with interest. We talked about that yesterday, verse 28. So take the talent from
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_01]: him and give it to him, verse 10 talents. For to everyone who has more will be given
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not even what he has will
[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: be taken away. And cast out that worthless servant into the outer darkness in that
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Wow, what is this basically saying?
[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_01]: If we don't use the gifts and talents, God is given us, can he take them away? Yes,
[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_01]: that seems to be indicated here in the text. Secondly, if we don't use the gifts and
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: talents of God is given us, is there impending judgment and punishment when Christ comes
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_01]: back? Basically it seems to be indicating that right now that is a lot of loss. So what's
[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_01]: the bottom line for us? Whatever talents we've been given, use them to the glory of God.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_01]: If you don't use it, you might lose it. And continue to use those gifts and talents, knowing
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: indeed that the more you use them, the better you'll get at using them. Let me give
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: you an example. I was believe it or not, I was a horrible teacher when I got out of the seminary.
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I really struggled with that. But as like a knowledge and experience, I got better at it.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: So the more you use a spiritual gift, the better you get at it. So use it or lose it. But
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: if you've got it, practice it so that you become better at it. Secondly, encourage other people
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: around you to use their gifts. Remember what the Bible says by the way, I got a new Bible.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Remember what the Bible says here, right? So we need to tell people around us if they're
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: not using their gifts and talents to glorify God, extend His kingdom and serve one another
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: in love with them. They're not doing that. We need to encourage them to do just that because
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: the warning here in Scripture is pretty replete. You know, it's not something we don't want
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_01]: to find out as we said yesterday. We don't want to find out on judgment day. Oh my goodness,
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I was given all these gifts and I never utilized them. We don't want to find out what
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: the Lord is going to have to say or do to us as a result of that now. I know what you're
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_01]: thinking, but Pastor Dave, we're not saved by our works. Absolutely true. We're not saved
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_01]: by using our gifts and talents. Absolutely true. We said that yesterday. Our gifts and
[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: talents are used by us as response to what God has done for us through his son. But here's
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_01]: what I believe, if you really understand the depth and height and breadth of God's love
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: for us in Jesus Christ, there is going to be a willingness on the part of the believer
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_01]: inspired by the Holy Spirit to want to use their gifts and talents to glorify God.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Amen. So, use them to the glory of God and the more you use them, the better you'll get
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: at using them to extend His kingdom and serve one another in love. Okay? So that is today's
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_01]: daily truth. Bottom line is you've been given gifts, use them to glorify God and to benefit others.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ and that is today's daily truth. Thank you for
