Until He Comes - Part 3 | Acts 1:6-11

[00:00:07] My wife and I can't believe this. We were listening to a podcast last night by a Jewish lady

[00:00:13] and we thought okay, you know, she's a Jew for Jesus. She's going to testify the grace of God.

[00:00:18] And you know, her first part, her words, the first words coming out of her mouth was, Jesus Christ is not the son of God in the promise Messiah.

[00:00:28] Wow. This was a lady who has God's chosen people of the Jewish faith and she said,

[00:00:35] adamantly and clearly Christ is not the way. Do you know what I'm telling you today?

[00:00:39] Christ is the only way to heaven. And you've heard me say that so many times down through the years.

[00:00:46] But Jesus said it so beautifully when he said these words in my father's house are many mansions.

[00:00:52] If we're not so, I would have told you and low I go to prepare a place for you so that where I am there. You may be also.

[00:00:59] And the place I'm going to you know and the way you know and Tom, this was a slow learner, said this.

[00:01:05] Lord, we don't know where you're going. So how should we know the way? And Jesus said, I don't know.

[00:01:10] You figured out, is that what he said?

[00:01:15] He said, no, I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father.

[00:01:24] No one gets to have an except through faith and faith alone in me. This is the gospel.

[00:01:34] This is the truth of God's word. And we don't sugarcoat it. We don't make excuses for it.

[00:01:42] We don't say, wow, I don't want to really testify the grace of God because I might hurt people's feelings.

[00:01:50] You see we just share the word and we let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

[00:01:57] Paul said it so beautifully when he said, I planted a polished watered, but God made it grow.

[00:02:05] Now we come to the end of this incredible text. I just think there's a lot of humor in the Bible, right?

[00:02:12] So Jesus says all this stuff that we've already talked about, you know, it's not for you to know.

[00:02:17] The dates are the times don't guess, be empowered, you're to be my witnesses. Now they come to the Mount of Olives.

[00:02:24] And Jesus has said all this stuff and all of a sudden without retrorockets or strings, he just ascends right up into heaven.

[00:02:32] And the disciples are so mesmerized by this, they're gawking Peter.

[00:02:40] This he, you know, was a couple of angels. We're standing there.

[00:02:46] They're so much fulfilling this gawking and looking up also and there's these two angels.

[00:02:53] And what did the angels say? Men of Galilee, why you stand there staring up into the heavens?

[00:02:58] This Jesus who's gone up into the heavens will come back and like manner. That which goes up you guys say it, musk him down.

[00:03:06] Until then, until he comes, don't guess?

[00:03:14] Your empowered, don't wait. The Holy Spirit is opening the door for you to share your faith.

[00:03:26] Do it as soon as possible, as a Holy Spirit opens the door to do so.

[00:03:33] Let it be so and let it be done to the glory of God's holy and saving name. Amen.

[00:03:40] Let's close with the word of prayer. Father, we just thank you so much for the power of your word.

[00:03:45] Help us to take the word that we've been challenged with today to understand Lord that we don't guess when you're going to come back.

[00:03:52] We know that we're empowered and we don't wait to testify what you've done especially Holy Spirit when you open the door for us to do so.

[00:04:00] So Lord, we think of people today that need Jesus desperately.

[00:04:03] When you open the door, Holy Spirit help us to go through it and to be prepared to testify what Jesus means to us personally.

[00:04:13] And all these things we pray in the name of Jesus, your Son, our Savior, amen.
