[00:00:00] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. Are there days in your life when you would

[00:00:13] just as soon not get out of bed? You know the day is going to be a challenging one.

[00:00:20] You know there's some conflict you need to resolve, some difficult discussions you need

[00:00:25] to have, some overwhelming problems that need to be faced. I mean are there some days when

[00:00:31] you just as soon not face the day? In Matthew chapter 21 remember Jesus had entered into Jerusalem,

[00:00:41] he had cleansed the temple, he had given sight to the blind, caused the lame to walk,

[00:00:47] and of course he faced the Pharisees who were condemning him and criticizing him for doing what

[00:00:52] he was doing. They were land blasting him because there were children that were praising him saying,

[00:00:57] hey Lozanna son of David, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. He was saying then that

[00:01:03] these children were capable of faith and praise towards God. Then he retreats as you remember

[00:01:08] as we talked about yesterday, he retreats back to Bethany probably to Lazarus, Mary, and Martha's

[00:01:14] home. Now it's time for him to face the things that he needed to face that week and that day.

[00:01:21] What did he have to face that week and that day? Well some more run-ins with the Pharisees,

[00:01:27] some teachings on the parables, some teachings on the end times theology, all of it culminating

[00:01:34] with him being rejected by people, being unfairly tried, being beaten by the Roman government

[00:01:41] and finally crucified on a cross. All of this Jesus had to face. Now I'm sure when he woke up

[00:01:48] on Tuesday morning, if indeed that's what day this was in the text I'm about to read,

[00:01:53] as he woke up that morning, I'm sure he probably just would have rather stayed in bed.

[00:02:01] But there were things to do. There was work to accomplish. There was a mission to carry out.

[00:02:09] There was a salvation to be rendered and won. And so he faced the day with the strength

[00:02:15] that only the Father could give. There are days when we wake up and it's tough to get up. Listen

[00:02:23] to what it says here in Matthew chapter 21 verse 18, in the morning as he was returning to the city.

[00:02:35] As we just said Jesus knew it was coming that day and in the days that followed,

[00:02:39] but he faced it with the strength that God the Father gives whatever challenges you face

[00:02:45] each day. Ask the Lord to give you strength A to get out of bed, to give you wisdom and insight,

[00:02:52] to handle difficult discussions, to give you wisdom to solve problems, to handle conflict,

[00:02:59] and to go about your day with the strength that only the Lord Jesus Christ can give.

[00:03:07] I love what the hymnist has said, with the Lord begin my task, Jesus will direct it.

[00:03:12] For his aid and counsel ask, Jesus will perfect it every day with Jesus' rise. And when day is ended,

[00:03:20] unto him then close your eyes, be to him commended. Jesus knew there were challenging days ahead,

[00:03:29] but he got out of bed and he faced them. And you might be saying, well, he could do that

[00:03:33] because he's God. Yes. But who are you connected to? Who do you have a relationship with?

[00:03:39] Who lives in you? Who empowers you? It's Jesus Christ. It's the power of the Holy Spirit, whatever

[00:03:46] challenge you face this day. You do not face it alone. The accompanying strength, guidance,

[00:03:53] direction, wisdom, providential care is accompanying you all given by God. So get up,

[00:04:01] get out of bed, face the day the Lord will see you through. That is today's Daily Truth. Have a great

[00:04:11] day in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for tuning in to Daily Truths with Dave Alman.
