Real Food Instead of Junk Food | Matthew 24:45

[00:00:07] Hi everybody, we're talking about the Second Coming of Christ.

[00:00:09] We've been talking about that for a couple weeks and Jesus gives some specific words to

[00:00:14] Christian leaders.

[00:00:15] Now before I start, I want to say most people I know including myself like junk food.

[00:00:20] We're not supposed to eat it.

[00:00:21] We know it's not good for us but every once in a while you know you probably indulge.

[00:00:26] Now there's three different junk foods that really all have the same last name.

[00:00:31] Cheetos, Fritos and Doritos.

[00:00:35] You know what all those three have in common?

[00:00:38] The word toes.

[00:00:41] Anything that has the word toes in it probably isn't very good for you.

[00:00:45] Okay, you're probably wondering where are you going with that, Pastor Dave?

[00:00:48] Well listen to this.

[00:00:49] This is Matthew chapter 24 verses 45 and 46.

[00:00:53] Who then is the faithful and wise servant?

[00:00:56] Now in this context, the faithful and wise servant are Christian leaders.

[00:01:02] Who then is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has set over his household?

[00:01:07] Who's the master?

[00:01:08] Obviously that's Jesus.

[00:01:10] Who's the household?

[00:01:11] Believers.

[00:01:12] And of course Christian leaders, these servants are over the household sharing and teaching

[00:01:18] and proclaiming the word of God and caring for the flock.

[00:01:20] So then who then is the faithful and wise servant?

[00:01:23] Christian leaders whom his master has set over his household?

[00:01:27] The household are followers of Jesus, right?

[00:01:29] And the master of course is Jesus.

[00:01:31] To give them their food at the proper time, let's talk about the proper food.

[00:01:38] It's the word of God.

[00:01:40] How many times do people go to churches and they don't hear the word of God?

[00:01:44] They hear anything but the word of God.

[00:01:46] They get junk food and junk food is not good for you.

[00:01:51] Anything that is contrary, contradictory or not in congruence with the word of God or as

[00:01:57] apart from the word of God is not what Christian leaders ought to be sharing.

[00:02:01] It's junk food.

[00:02:02] Now it says to share the food at the proper time.

[00:02:06] What's the proper time?

[00:02:07] Obviously it's when you go to church.

[00:02:09] It could be Sunday.

[00:02:10] It could be Wednesday.

[00:02:11] It could be Saturday.

[00:02:12] But it's a time designated in your week where you say, I'm going to go to God's house.

[00:02:17] I'm going to worship the Lord.

[00:02:19] I'm going to receive the sacrament.

[00:02:21] I'm going to hear the proclamation of the word of God.

[00:02:23] And again folks, if you're in a church where the word of God is not proclaimed or it's

[00:02:29] watered down or it's compromised or you don't hear Bible passages, you don't hear

[00:02:34] messages based on the word of God.

[00:02:36] You're receiving junk food.

[00:02:38] The Doritos, Tostitos, Fritos, Cheetos.

[00:02:44] That's a weird name, right?

[00:02:45] Cheetos that is not what we need.

[00:02:48] So I love it.

[00:02:49] This is basically saying to Christian leaders, share the proper food of God's word and

[00:02:54] to you as a follower of Jesus, make sure you go to church on a regular basis at

[00:02:59] a church where you get the proper food of God's word.

[00:03:02] And of course, you can receive the proper food of God's word on a daily basis through

[00:03:06] Daily Trues and probably you've not heard a message based on Cheetos, Fritos and

[00:03:11] Doritos before.

[00:03:12] But again, not good.

[00:03:15] The word of God?

[00:03:16] This is good.

[00:03:17] By the way, I've been using my wife's Bible for four months now I think and I'm

[00:03:22] finally ordering my own Bible, right?

[00:03:25] Remember I lost my other one?

[00:03:27] I lost the solid food of God's word so I've been using my wife's Bible which

[00:03:31] is fine.

[00:03:32] It's just, I don't like the pink cover.

[00:03:34] All right.

[00:03:37] Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.

[00:03:39] Go to a church that gives you proper food given by Christian leaders who are the servants

[00:03:45] of the Lord until he comes back and that is today's Daily Truth.
