Keep Your Ticket! | Matthew 24:32-33

[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. I can remember back in 1975 I was a senior

[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_01]: in high school and Dr. Julia Serving, Dr. Jay with the New York Nets was coming to town

[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_01]: and my good friend and I had gotten tickets and we couldn't wait and finally the day

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_01]: came and we got to the very front gate. I have the tickets in my pocket at least

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought but somehow in some way maybe when I took my keys out of my pocket the

[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_01]: tickets came out as well. So we didn't have a ticket and we couldn't get in and

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_01]: we stood outside the arena and we heard the crowd cheering and we knew it was an

[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_01]: amazing game and we're listening to the radio but I couldn't get in because I

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: didn't have a ticket. In the spring when the trees are starting to bud and

[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_01]: the leaves are starting to come out and the flowers are starting to bloom in

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_01]: the spring it tells us that the summer is coming and oh boy isn't that a marvelous

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_01]: indication of beautiful weather of wonderful beaches of going up in the

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: mountains and hanging out and having picnics and having backyard barbecues

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: and all that kind of stuff we love this summer for a while and then it

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_01]: gets so hot we wish it would be over. As a matter of fact this time of the year if

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: it's still in the 90s and some of you watching Phoenix it's still in the

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_01]: hundreds you're ready for summer to end and you say to yourself when is this

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_01]: gonna end? Hmm well listen to this Jesus says this in Matthew chapter 24 verses 32

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_01]: and 33 and this is what he says from the fig tree learn its lesson as soon

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves you know that summer is near

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_01]: in other words during the winter the branches become brittle there's no

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_01]: leaves but then in the early spring of course that's in like February right

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_01]: in February it starts to get limber it's easily bent it won't break and

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_01]: it starts to get leaves or buds and when that happens it tells the folks

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_01]: back there in Israel that it's gonna be summer very very soon the indication is

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: there then Jesus says this so also verse 33 so also when you see all these things

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: you know that he namely the son of man is near at the very gates what things

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_01]: we talking about wars and rumors of war famines kingdom against kingdom false

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_01]: prophets false Christ tribulation lull and lawlessness all the things we've

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: been talking about the last oh two weeks or so when all these things are

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: occurring Jesus is saying and by the way all these things are occurring and it's

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_01]: escalating we said the other day that there's more earthquakes the last

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_01]: hundred years than all the other years combined up until then all these things

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: are indications that were in the spring and the summer of Jesus second

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_01]: coming is all most here right and so when Christ comes back it will be

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: figuratively speaking it will be perpetual summer and will never say ah I

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: wish this would end we'll say thank you Jesus this will never end perpetual joy

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_01]: peace habitation in the glories of God living in the presence of God without

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_01]: any sin or suffering or shame or darkness or loneliness or death will

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_01]: never wanted it and and it won't in that glorious isn't that marvelous so

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_01]: here's the thing how do you get ready for that keep your ticket don't be like

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_01]: me where I lost my ticket to the big game in 1975 keep your ticket and what's

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_01]: the ticket faith in Jesus Christ that is the only way home we know the Christ

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_01]: lived and died and rose again and because he did all of that for us taking

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: away our sin and opening up the gates of eternal life for us through faith in

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: what he has done we're ready to go so my friend don't lose your ticket keep

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: your faith in Jesus that is your ticket home to a perpetual quote summer

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: that will never end unquote and that is today's daily truth I have a great
