Just what I Needed | Isaiah 9:6

[00:00:07] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. Merry Christmas on this Christmas Day. Thanks be to God. We have a Savior in Jesus Christ who loved us, who gave his life for us on the cross, who rose again from the dead. And this is the gift of Christmas. Amen?

[00:00:23] So today he probably opened presents or maybe last night and maybe somebody said when they opened their present, they said, just what I needed. Right?

[00:00:33] Might have been a new hair dryer or a vacuum cleaner or a mixer or a car, who knows?

[00:00:41] But many times when people open their gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, they open it up and they say, just what I needed.

[00:00:48] What do you really need? Not what you want. Somebody might say, well, I need a new set of clubs or I need some new car mats or I need to see that movie. That's what I need.

[00:01:02] I mean, those are all wants, right? What do you really need in life?

[00:01:09] When you struggle with sin, you need forgiveness. When you're frightened of death, you need the assurance of eternal life.

[00:01:17] When you feel forsaken and alone, you need a God that will never leave you and never forsake you.

[00:01:24] Isaiah chapter 9 verse 6 says this,

[00:01:28] Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.

[00:01:33] That was written 750 years before Jesus ever came on the scene, declaring to us what we really need.

[00:01:42] The son that was born in Bethlehem, the son that lived for us, the son that went to a cross and died for us, the son that rose again from the dead.

[00:01:51] This is what we need by repentance and faith through the power of the Holy Spirit.

[00:01:57] The son that was born in Bethlehem, the son that was born in Bethlehem, the son that was born in Bethlehem.

[00:02:29] The son that was born in Bethlehem, the son that was born in Bethlehem, the son that was born in Bethlehem.

[00:02:41] And by faith in him, you have exactly what you need.

[00:02:48] So Merry Christmas, everybody.

[00:02:51] Merry Christmas.

[00:02:52] Unto us a child is born.

[00:02:55] Unto us a son is given.

[00:02:57] And the government shall be upon his shoulders and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

[00:03:07] This is what we need.

[00:03:11] And when we have Christ, we can say, this is just what I needed.

[00:03:20] Praise be to God.
