Finding our Rest | Matthew 11:28

[00:00:08] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. Do you sometimes find your soul not at rest?

[00:00:14] You're anxious and feel overwhelmed and it feels like the whole world is pressing in on you

[00:00:21] and you can't find any relief.

[00:00:26] Augustine said these words that our soul is restless until it finds its rest in the Lord.

[00:00:34] Jesus said it best when he said this in Matthew chapter 11 verse 28,

[00:00:38] Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.

[00:00:46] Take a look at this picture. I went upstairs and I had to do a couple things

[00:00:53] and I left my Bible on the couch and I give you not dash obviously jumped up on the couch

[00:00:58] and put his head on the scriptures. He was finding his rest on the scriptures.

[00:01:04] My friends, this is where we find rest for our soul, for our life, for our spirit.

[00:01:10] We find rest in the Lord. If you're anxious about anything today,

[00:01:15] Jesus said it best when he said come to me, I'll give you rest.

[00:01:19] The restless soul finds its comfort, support and lack of weariness when we come to the Lord

[00:01:26] and just find our peace, security and rest in him.

[00:01:32] Do that today. There's no problem in your life that he can't handle.

[00:01:37] There's nothing coming your way that he hasn't been aware of already

[00:01:41] and he will help you through it. Find your rest in him, not in pills,

[00:01:46] not in alcohol, not in pornography or whatever it is that you try to relieve your pain in.

[00:01:52] Find your rest, security and peace in Jesus.

[00:01:58] Jesus said it best when he said my peace, I leave with you my peace.

[00:02:03] I give unto you not as the world gives do I give unto you so let not your heart be weary

[00:02:09] and let not your heart be troubled.

[00:02:13] At the end of Hannity's program on Fox TV, he says,

[00:02:18] let not your heart be troubled. Boy, if ever we've needed to hear that word,

[00:02:24] it's today, find your rest in Jesus my friend.
