[00:00:00] We'll truth, Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. I was digging through this little bin right here You can see it and that's where we put the kids stuff that they are grandkids stuff

[00:00:20] that they play with during the summer east east soccer balls and baseball bats and wifful balls and stuff I love wifful ball. But in that, I also found this. You probably see the name there, it says Josiah. This is my son Josiah's baseball glove.

[00:00:37] He played baseball from about age 5 or 6 till about 10, right? And he quit playing baseball and he was about 90 got hit by a pitch and he got in the car and he said, I'm done dad. I understood that. He got injured a little bit

[00:00:57] and stuff and he just did have a lot for baseball but this glove reminds me of that time and how precious that was and how special that was and you know a lot of times we wish our kids would mature quicker and wish they'd get older quicker

[00:01:14] and sometimes we say, boy, I can't wait till we're empty nesters and all that kind of stuff Can I encourage you to make the best of the time that you have with your kids?

[00:01:23] It goes so quickly and I know we say that all the time but we have five kids and you know the time that you have them from high school all the way down to you know when they're born

[00:01:35] and stuff. If you total it all together can concerning that compared to your marriage you know they're only around for about a third of the time but so often times we fail to rejoice

[00:01:47] reflect upon and celebrate the time that we have with our children because before you know it they're gone. I have to tell you when I saw this glove, when I saw this glove this morning

[00:02:01] I kind of started to tear up because I miss those times when I play catch with my son we play in the backyard and play with a ball and yeah he's 20 years old now

[00:02:10] and and of course I have two other boys that I did the same thing with and boy, I just cherish the memory now and I thank God for those opportunities but if you're in the midst of raising kids and you know you're so overwhelmingly busy

[00:02:25] and I remember that just thank God for each day. Thank God for the children for the loved ones in your life make them most of it because before you know it they're gone and they're establishing their own life

[00:02:38] and they're having fun on their own and I just make the most if you have kids or grandkids around just make the most of every opportunity. Take as much time as you possibly can to be with them

[00:02:49] because before you know it they're grown and gone and the only thing you have left then is a a tad-erd old baseball glove that you find at the bottom of a bin and boy I thank God for the times

[00:03:02] I had with all our kids do the same because it is a blessing to cherish not only the memories but the times you have with your children. God bless you have a wonderful day in the Lord Jesus Christ
