[00:00:00] Real Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman
[00:00:07] We all have a story to tell, right?
[00:00:10] Yesterday we talked about these men who stood at a distance and they couldn't see
[00:00:15] and they recognized that Jesus as he was passing out of Jericho
[00:00:19] and passing by, they recognized that he was the son of God and Saviour of the world
[00:00:24] because they said, Lord, have mercy on us, son of David
[00:00:28] and what did Jesus do?
[00:00:30] Well, listen, this is what verse 34 says
[00:00:33] and Jesus in pity touched their eyes
[00:00:36] and immediately they recovered their sight, listen to this
[00:00:40] and followed him.
[00:00:42] Jesus had performed this incredible miracle.
[00:00:45] Now they're able to see maybe for the first time for many, many years
[00:00:49] and what do they do?
[00:00:51] They follow him.
[00:00:53] Now I don't think that just means that they committed their life to him
[00:00:56] and the son of his disciples.
[00:00:58] I think it literally means that they followed him into where?
[00:01:02] Into Jerusalem.
[00:01:04] This had taken place on the Friday or Saturday before Palm Sunday, right?
[00:01:09] And so they followed him into Jerusalem.
[00:01:12] I don't know where they stayed but the next day or two, what did they see?
[00:01:16] Jesus riding triumphantly on a donkey into Jerusalem.
[00:01:20] Palm branches being waved, people saying, hey, love's in it, son of David.
[00:01:24] Same thing that they said.
[00:01:26] Son of David, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,
[00:01:28] making the same confession they made Jesus as the Christ, the promised Messiah.
[00:01:34] Now as they followed him into town, they probably hung around
[00:01:38] because they wanted to see what happened to this man.
[00:01:41] Who is he?
[00:01:43] What's he going to do?
[00:01:44] And then of course they understood and maybe they were even there.
[00:01:48] Ever thought about this?
[00:01:49] That these two guys were born blind now that we're able to see
[00:01:53] the cross of Christ.
[00:01:55] They were born blind for four or five days.
[00:01:58] They witnessed possibly the crucifixion of Christ.
[00:02:02] But then three days later, witnessed his resurrection and followed him around
[00:02:08] all the more after the resurrection.
[00:02:10] You talk about a story to tell.
[00:02:13] Can you imagine what their story was like?
[00:02:15] You're not going to believe it guys.
[00:02:17] But we were on the side of the road outside of Jericho,
[00:02:20] the promised Messiah touches our eyes.
[00:02:22] We followed him to Jerusalem.
[00:02:24] We saw him ride in a donkey.
[00:02:26] We heard people hail him as the son of David.
[00:02:28] We know he's the Messiah.
[00:02:30] He was crucified.
[00:02:31] He was raised.
[00:02:32] We've seen him and we are in.
[00:02:35] We're committing our life to him because he is who he claimed to be
[00:02:39] the son of God.
[00:02:40] What a story to tell.
[00:02:43] Now my friends, you have a story to tell too.
[00:02:46] You were born spiritually blind.
[00:02:48] In the spirit of God, remove the blinders so that you could recognize Jesus
[00:02:53] for who he is.
[00:02:54] Your life has been touched, renewed and restored by the grace of God.
[00:03:00] Your sins have been forgiven and the gates of heaven have been open to you
[00:03:05] by repentance and faith in Christ because what Jesus has done for you,
[00:03:10] your life has been changed.
[00:03:13] You're going towards God, not away from him.
[00:03:17] You're running into the arms of the Father instead of away from the arms of the Father.
[00:03:21] You have someone guiding your life instead of calling the shots on your own.
[00:03:25] On and on and on, we could go on to say that your life would be empty
[00:03:31] without the Lord Jesus Christ.
[00:03:33] But it's full and purposeful because of Christ.
[00:03:37] You have a story to tell my friend and may I encourage you to tell it.
[00:03:44] I'm sure these two blind guys never stopped testifying what Christ had done,
[00:03:49] not only restoring their sight but in Christ what Christ had done
[00:03:53] in making them a new person and how they were witnesses to the crucifixion,
[00:03:58] witnesses to the resurrection, witnesses to the 40 days that followed after that
[00:04:03] and they had a story to tell, so do you.
[00:04:07] That assurance in Christ, so do you.
[00:04:11] As a matter of fact, I think of that song, Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine.
[00:04:17] Oh what a foretaste of glory divine, air of salvation, purchase of God,
[00:04:23] born in the spirit washed in his blood.
[00:04:26] This is my story.
[00:04:28] This is my crown praising my Savior all the day long.
[00:04:32] This is my story.
[00:04:34] This is my song praising my Savior all the day long.
[00:04:39] Those men had blessed assurance that Jesus was who he claimed to be.
[00:04:45] He restored their sight.
[00:04:47] He's restored our spiritual sight.
[00:04:49] Blessed assurance we have a story to tell.
[00:04:54] Tell it my friends, tell it until the day the Lord calls you home
[00:04:59] or comes back in glory to take you home both body and soul forever.
[00:05:05] Let it be so and let it be done.
[00:05:07] This is our story.
[00:05:10] Tell it my friend, tell it.
[00:05:13] And that is today's Daily Truth.
[00:05:15] Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
[00:05:37] Come back tomorrow for your next Daily Truth.
