[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Real Truth Daily
[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_01]: This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman
[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths.
[00:00:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday we talked about what's going to happen immediately before Christ comes back.
[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: The sun will not shine, the moon will be darkened, the heavens will be shaken,
[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_00]: the stars will fall from the sky and then we pick up this verse found in the book of Matthew chapter 24 verse 30
[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Then at last the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens.
[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_00]: In other words, he's going to appear up in the sky in the clouds.
[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth.
[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Why does it say that? That there's going to be deep mourning.
[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Well people have an opportunity during their lifetime to receive Jesus as a Savior by the power of the Holy Spirit.
[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But if they reject Christ, if they don't believe in Christ and then they see Christ on that day
[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_00]: they're going to realize it's too late.
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: They had an opportunity to put their trust in Jesus during their lifetime and they did not.
[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So what will happen? Their sin will remain and they'll be judged, condemned based on their sin
[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: which never was taken away through the merits of Jesus because they didn't apprehend
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: and appropriate the merits of Jesus by faith.
[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_00]: But for those who believe our sin was taken away at Calvary's Cross
[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and our sin is forgiven, the judgment then because our sin is gone based on the merits of Christ is not guilty
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: and will be robed in the righteousness, purity, holiness of Jesus Christ.
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And as a result of that we won't be judged based on our sin.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be judged based on the merits of Christ who took our place on the cross of Calvary
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: and the judgment will be not guilty.
[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: So while unbelievers when Christ comes back will mourn and be in pain and be frightened
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: we'll lift up our heads, we'll be joy filled, we know where we're going,
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: we'll know that we'll be taken to heaven to live with Christ forever
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and it will be a joyous, marvelous, incredible celebration.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And then it says this,
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_00]: and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Think about it, when Jesus came to planet earth the first time he came as just a regular guy, right?
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't look at Christ from a distance and even talked him and interact with him and say,
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: oh, you know, look at how amazing, how incredibly bright he is,
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: the power and authority that resonates from him.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: No, when you just saw him, you know, he's a regular guy.
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And the book of Isaiah tells us this,
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_00]: but when Christ comes back in power, radiance, splendor, glory, might, authority,
[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_00]: as we've talked about before every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_00]: He will come in the clouds as it says here with power and authority and might
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: and there'll be no doubt in anybody's mind who he is and why he came
[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and who will mourn those who during their lifetime had an opportunity to put their trust in Jesus and did not.
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: But for us today, we can thank God that somewhere along the way,
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: either through our parents or through a friend or through obviously from most of you through Holy baptism,
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_00]: we came to faith and the spirit of God preserved our faith all these years
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and then we run the race to eternal life to completion with our trust in Jesus Christ
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_00]: and then when we're raised from the dead and we will be raised from the dead,
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: then we can lift up our eyes, glory in the presence of Jesus and look forward to the time
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_00]: when he will immediately then take us home to live with him forever.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So what's the bottom line of this devotion?
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank God that you are a believer in Jesus.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank God that the spirit of God worked in your life and brought you to faith
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and you can look forward to that day with great joy and great anticipation.
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And that is today's Daily Truth. Have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
