What Will Happen to Those on the Left Side of Christ? | Matthew 25:41

[00:00:07] Hi everybody, welcome back to Daily Truths. There's been many surveys that indicate that most people on planet Earth believe that there is a heaven, but relatively few, like 20% of people on planet Earth believe that there is a hell.

[00:00:22] Now you've heard me say there's a real heaven and a real hell. A lot of people believe there's heaven, comparatively speaking, very few believe there's a hell.

[00:00:32] Now did Jesus talk about that? In Matthew 25, verse 41, this is what he says,

[00:00:38] Then he will say to those on his left. Now remember we've talked about those who are believers in Christ when he comes back, those who are believers will be on his right side.

[00:00:47] Those who are not believers will be on his left side. So it says, then he will say to those on his left, those who are unbelievers,

[00:00:55] Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. What can we say about hell?

[00:01:04] It's for those people who reject the claims of Christ, who have cursed the name of Jesus, who don't believe in him.

[00:01:11] Now what also does it say here? It says that it's prepared for the devil and his demons.

[00:01:18] We know that the devil rebelled against God sometime during the six days of creation.

[00:01:23] And also those who followed Lucifer rebelled against God as well, and they were cast out of heaven.

[00:01:29] Now hell is a very real place prepared for the devil and his angels.

[00:01:35] Those who are demons, but also those who reject the claims of Christ, who don't receive Jesus as Savior, also end up there.

[00:01:44] Okay, now you're probably thinking, what's it like?

[00:01:48] Well, it says here it's burning. It's hot.

[00:01:50] Have you ever been burned?

[00:01:51] Have you ever had something on your body that got burned?

[00:01:54] The pain, I'm sure, was very, very severe, right?

[00:01:58] I burned myself a couple times. Oh my goodness.

[00:02:00] Can you imagine that for a lifetime?

[00:02:03] Can you imagine what that would be like into eternity?

[00:02:07] Not just for a lifetime, but into eternity?

[00:02:09] It's horrible. It's despicable. It's awful.

[00:02:13] And you're probably thinking, why do I want to end up there?

[00:02:17] Here's the thing.

[00:02:18] You won't if by the Holy Spirit's power, you repent of your sin and you put your trust in Jesus Christ.

[00:02:27] What did Jesus do for you?

[00:02:29] He saved your soul.

[00:02:31] He gives you eternal life.

[00:02:34] He forgives your sins.

[00:02:35] How did he do that?

[00:02:37] Because he loves you.

[00:02:39] Why did he do that?

[00:02:40] As I just said, he loves you.

[00:02:42] And that love propelled him to come to this world to do three things we can't do.

[00:02:48] To live the life we can't live.

[00:02:50] To obey the commandments we have broken.

[00:02:53] To elevate himself on the cross and receive the wrath of God so that he might be a holy sacrifice for our sin, appeasing the wrath of God and paying the ultimate price for our wrongs, which was death of a holy sacrifice on a cross.

[00:03:10] And that's what he did.

[00:03:12] And then just as he promised, he rose from the dead and he said he would do that through his life, death and resurrection.

[00:03:20] You have forgiveness of sins and the gates of heaven are open to you.

[00:03:25] And you receive that by the Holy Spirit's power, repenting of your sin and putting your trust in Jesus.

[00:03:33] Then what Jesus talks about here in this verse, then he will say to those left, depart from me, you cursed into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

[00:03:41] You won't have that.

[00:03:43] You're spared, rescued and delivered from that because you have faith in Jesus.

[00:03:48] Now, here's the thing.

[00:03:50] Put your faith in Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.

[00:03:53] Put your faith in Jesus today.

[00:03:55] Then you're rescued and delivered from the impending wrath of God, which will be revealed when Christ comes back.

[00:04:03] We don't have to worry about it.

[00:04:05] We're in the kingdom of God.

[00:04:07] We're in the family of believers.

[00:04:10] God is our father.

[00:04:11] We are his children and we're headed to heaven, knowing indeed that Jesus did everything necessary to save our souls.

[00:04:20] He did everything necessary to save your soul.

[00:04:24] You trust in him and you're saved from the impending wrath of God and eternal fire in hell.

[00:04:31] You're saved from that because Jesus did it all.

[00:04:36] Isn't that great news?

[00:04:38] Isn't it marvelous to know?

[00:04:39] You wouldn't believe how many people I run into in everyday life who are afraid that, you know, they're somehow going to end up in this horrible place.

[00:04:47] Call hell and I tell them, hey, put your trust in Jesus and you don't have to worry about it.

[00:04:51] Put your trust in Jesus and you don't have to worry about it.

[00:04:56] That's good news today, tomorrow and every day.

[00:05:01] And have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
