[00:00:00] Real Truth Daily. This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman. Hello Pastor Dave. Hey Kent. Here we are in beautiful Phoenix. We left the 11 degree Colorado to be here in Phoenix for the Best Practices Conference. Yep. And I'm really enjoying myself. How are you doing? Oh, it's great.

[00:00:21] And I'm learning so much and just so you know the best thing about BPM, Best Practices in Ministry is relationships that you reestablish with people you haven't seen for a long time. Oh yeah. Just networking with people it's awesome. It's an awesome thing. And they keep on getting older and we keep getting younger and I don't understand that. Well, I was telling Beth that a lot of people that I saw at this thing like 15 years ago aren't here anymore. They're either retired or dead.

[00:00:49] Or yeah. Or they're with the Lord. One or the other. That's exactly right. Yeah. Good for them. Well, you know, I am learning a lot here. I just want to let everybody know that I'm not trying to be a mini me here. It's just that, you know, we get all those letters saying how handsome you look. Oh. And so I thought, well, hey, you know, I can at least try. Thousands, thousands of letters indicating that. Thousands of letters. Yes. Right.

[00:01:12] Well, you know, I, the topic you brought up on, you know, people trying to discount the whole Jesus was really dead. Was he really dead? Or was, you know, was this a fainting spell, which you described as a swoon theory? Swoon theory. Yeah. And, you know, did they just rob his body? You know, there's all these different things. You know, these are people that are really probably unchurched or they just don't listen to scripture. Right.

[00:01:41] I mean, because if that's your attitude, if that's what you think, obviously you're not there with scripture. Right. I mean, you're not reading your Bible, folks. Right. You need to get into your Bible. You know, when we talked about it earlier today, I thought about Acts and Acts 315. It says, you killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this because he lives. Because he lives, we shall live also. Oh, boy.

[00:02:10] And, you know, what an incredible passage that is for us to know. But if you're a non-believer, eh, you know, I'm not gonna believe that. That can't be true. Well, I love that because that's saying we've seen this stuff. We've seen the miracles. We've seen the death. We've seen the resurrection. We're eyewitnesses to it. We're here to testify about it and to tell you as we pass it on to those who are reading this, he's alive.

[00:02:39] And we've seen him. What more evidence do you need? And I think in the video that we're talking about that we showed a couple weeks ago, I mean, 500 people saw Christ all at once. Right? And I know I probably stated this before on DT, but of those 500 people, when Paul wrote that some 30 years after Christ rose from the dead, some of those people were still alive. And he basically was saying, if you don't believe that Christ died and rose again, all you have to do is talk to those eyewitnesses. Right.

[00:03:08] Right. So, so we got the swoon theory that he really wasn't dead. He just was needed to be resuscitated in the tomb. That the disciples stole his body from the cross or from the tomb and made up the whole thing. Or the fairy tales theory that they have. They just made it all up. Yeah. And you know, the thing is, I was in rescue, as you know, for a long time and we resuscitated a lot of people. And I can't think of once where the coolness of a grave resuscitated.

[00:03:37] You know, some of the things they come up with. It's like, really? We've been doing it wrong all these years. See, you are. Hey, Bob, we need to put him in a cave. Put him in a cave and put a stone in front of it. The coolness will bring it back. Right. Oh, my goodness. You know, it's funny that you say that because I just did a podcast, which probably aired a couple of days ago, where this stone that was in front of the cave was like two tons. Right. 4,000 pounds. Yeah. Right.

[00:04:07] And so no, a couple of women couldn't possibly move that. It takes like eight or 10 guys to move it. Right. And so when they get there, the stones rolled away. Well, who did that? The angel did. Oh, of course. And I've told folks, it's not so that Jesus could get out. Let's let Jesus out of there. You know, he was already gone. It's so that we could look in and see that the tomb is empty. Exactly. Right. And see the linens there and everything. Right. That's what that was all about. Yeah, that's exactly right.

[00:04:34] Then I thought maybe that those two ladies, maybe they were stronger than women are today. I don't know. But I don't think I could have. They worked out and kissed their guns. Hey, Mary. So did you know, this is so cool. That that actually, you know, Matthew tells us there were two in there. But John tells us that Salome also joined, which is James and John's mother and church tradition.

[00:05:00] Historians believe that James and John's mother was the the sister of Mary, which makes James and John Jesus cousins. Right. Yeah. And I was thinking, it's so funny when when she come. Mrs. Zebedee Salome comes up to Jesus and says, hey, when you come into your kingdom, can my son sit on your right and left? Yeah, exactly. Well, of course they can. That's not a problem. Hey, cuz.

[00:05:29] Hey, Aunt Salome. No, I don't think so. Yeah, yeah. I don't want to sit with that guy anyway. Oh, my goodness. Well, you know, we've talked so much about how people try to twist the words in the Bible and how they try to make light of the Bible and they try to lead us astray. And obviously, it's the evil one that does this and just try to try to lead us astray of what the Bible really says, you know, and and it's the truth. The Bible is the truth. Yeah.

[00:05:58] And if you're not going to believe it, and you don't want to believe it, you're not going to believe it. I mean, I love it. I mean, I believe this. I'm not going to do it. I love it. You know, the end of the book of John says, I love this. Jesus did many other things that are not recorded in this book. Oh, yeah. But these things are written so that you might believe that he is the Christ, the son of living God. And by believing in him, you might have life. Yes. Love that.

[00:06:25] So all these things that are recorded in Scripture about the life of Christ are for our benefit to convict us of sin and bring us to the cradle cross and empty tomb of Jesus. He wants us to be saved. Amen. He wants to live with us in paradise for our eternity. And it's all right there. It's all right there for us. I love it. And all we need to do is believe and trust in him. Just believe. Amen. All right. Well, Pastor Dave, thank you for that. A pleasure.

[00:06:55] Hopefully all you folks now don't believe that he swooned because I'm not really sure what that is. He swooned. It's like a dance step. He swooned. He swooned. He didn't swoon. It's what my wife did when she saw me for the first time. Oh, is that right? That's not how she describes it. You have a great week in the Lord. You too. And you know, really, you learn a lot here at BPN. I will.

[00:07:23] Well, most of it I'll forget, but it's really good stuff. I know how you feel. Yep. Blessings to you, brother. Same to you, bro. Thank you for tuning in to Daily Truths with Dave Allman.
