[00:00:00] We'll truth, Daily This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman Hi everybody welcome back to Daily Truths. My wife has a craft room on the second floor of our house and from it you can see just about the whole front range you see the
[00:00:17] foothills and behind you see the four teeners of the front range it's amazing now from that perspective It looks like the foothills are right next to the four teaters but when you get there
[00:00:30] you see that they're not. There are huge valleys maybe tens, maybe 15, maybe 20 miles of valley between the foothills and the four teeners right or maybe a little intermedia hills in between
[00:00:44] but they from the perspective of my wife's craft room it looks like they're right next to each other Yesterday we talked about Jesus saying that the temple was going to be destroyed he said there's
[00:00:56] not going to be one stone that's unturned in the building. In other words, in 70 AD the Romans were going to ransack the temple and it would be destroyed and Jerusalem would be sacked as well by the Romans. Now Jesus says this in verse 3,
[00:01:12] He's gone from where the temple is he's gone to the Kidron Valley which is just east of the city walls of Jerusalem and come up this hill to the Mount of Olives. Now he's looking down on the temple and just a few of his disciples of
[00:01:28] following. Namely Peter James and John and Peter's brother Andrew Mark tells us and this is what it says as he said on the Mount of Olives and by the way this is what we call
[00:01:38] the oliveite discourse where Jesus talks about the end times and also what's going to happen to the temple in Jerusalem kind of in a mixed bag of dialogue with these four disciples on the Mount of Olives. We call it the oliveite discourse and it begins in Matthew chapter
[00:01:56] 24. So we pick up verse 3 and it says this as he sat on the Mount of Olives that his disciples came to him privately saying tell us when will these things be the destruction of the temple of Jerusalem when will these things be and what will be the
[00:02:13] sides of your coming at the close of the age. It's like the destruction of the temple of Jerusalem is like a foothill but the second coming of Jesus is like a 14er right and between is a huge valley. Now what was Jesus saying in this for
[00:02:33] unbelievers the destruction of the temple is going to be a day of judgment. For believers the destruction of the temple because they will escape it will be a day of deliverance so it is with the second coming of Jesus. For nonbelievers
[00:02:50] the second coming of Jesus will be a day of judgment. For believers it will be a day of deliverance. We will deliver from this veil of tears. We will be delivered from the way things are here on planet earth. We will be delivered from this fear of death
[00:03:07] and impending doom and the day of wrath when people will be separated from Jesus forever. We are delivered and saved and rescued from that why? Because we believe in Christ because we trust in His promises. Because we by faith have received the gift of eternal life
[00:03:25] and so in Christ comes back that's the 14er and we're in the valley now but the 14er is Christ returned and again for nonbelievers a day of judgment for believers a day of judgment or a day of deliverance. So what a day that will be?
[00:03:42] We're going to be talking about the specifics of what will lead up to that day in Matthew chapter 24. So buckle your seat belt it's going to be great teaching but because the word of God teaches it it's going to be great teaching preparing us
[00:03:57] for the second coming of Jesus and telling us what to do until he comes back on the damn judgment for nonbelievers and a day of deliverance for we who trust in Jesus. I can't wait to share this teaching with you and that is today's daily truth
