[00:00:00] We'll Truth Daily This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman. Backlates, right? Bob and Ali who is a greatest box of all time knew it. And oftentimes he would say publicly, I am the greatest.

[00:00:41] In our text yesterday we talked about the Pharisees who thought they were a big deal and did not walk in humility. They didn't give credit where credit is due. And as a matter of fact, they love the people in touch and they love people saying

[00:00:55] nice things about them. They love the approval and praise of men. And Jesus talked about that in Matthew 23 verses 6-8, we especially focus on verse 8. And this is what it says. And they love the place of honor at peace and the best seats and the synagogues and greetings

[00:01:15] in the market places and being called Rabbi by others. In other words, they had the education, they had the documents to show that they were highly educated. They loved people to say, hey, you're pretty smart. You're a Rabbi.

[00:01:28] They loved to give credit to themselves regarding their education and their expertise. And this is what Jesus says in verse 8. He's talking again to the crowds and especially to the disciples and he says this. But you are not to be called Rabbi.

[00:01:46] For you have only one teacher and you are all brothers. It's not that Jesus didn't want people to call themselves a teacher. That's not the point. He's saying, ultimately, there is one teacher and that's me.

[00:02:00] And I'm the one who's given you any good gift that you have to teach and educate other people. I'm the ultimate teacher. I'm the one who has ultimate knowledge and you are not the one who's to use serpithori over me.

[00:02:13] I've given you the opportunity to preach and teach and share and there's ultimately one source of what you know and that comes from me. So I'm the ultimate teacher. That's what he's basically saying.

[00:02:26] And as you're all knit together in love and believe all the same thing about me, Jesus is saying, your brothers and of course infertile that is your sisters in Christ. So all of this is telling us to walk before the Lord in here's the key word humility.

[00:02:47] You know what John the Baptist said in all humility? As he met Jesus, He said this, you must increase and I must decrease. When Jesus performed amazing miracle in front of Peter, Peter said this, Lord get away from me for I'm a sinful man. He walked in humility.

[00:03:07] Say Paul is the greatest evangelist of all time, said these words. He said, I am a sinner the worst of all. Jesus Christ came to save sinners of whom I am the worst. Wow, you talk about humility in life.

[00:03:23] So my friend, the bottom line of this message today is give credit where credit is due. Anything good that happens in your life even if it's been you who's done it, give credit where credit is due. Help people understand. It's God is given the gifts.

[00:03:41] His Jesus is given the opportunities. It's Jesus who's open the door. It's Jesus who's bestowed the gifts and talents that you have. So anything good that happens in your life, especially something that you've done,

[00:03:55] it's Christ in you and as a result of that, you don't say I am the greatest like Muhammad Ali, you say he is the greatest and I walk before him in all humility, giving credit where credit is due.

[00:04:13] And that is today's daily truth, have a great day in the Lord Jesus Christ.
