[00:00:00] We'll truth, Daily This is Daily Truths with Dave Ahlman. I want to tell you last night, there were illegal fireworks all over the town of Firestill. I mean, boom, boom, boom, all over. I mean, fireworks illegal, I think every block was consumed by illegal fireworks.
[00:00:49] Now people weren't paying any attention to what the law was, right? The law was, don't shoot off illegal fireworks and people were saying, I don't care what they say. I don't care what the law is, I'm going to do what I want. Whew.
[00:01:03] Are we sometimes the same way with God? I don't care what you say, I don't care what the law says. I'm going to do what I want. Yeah, sometimes we do. Sometimes we just dismiss what God says and do our own thing.
[00:01:18] Now folks, we have to admit that that's sinful. We have to admit that sometimes because of our sin nature and the temptations of the evil one, sometimes we give in to the lust of our flesh. We give into the things that are sinful flesh dictates, right?
[00:01:33] And we just dismiss what God says and make excuses for it and ignore it and explain it away and do all the things that Adam and Eve did with their original sin. They hid from God, they explained it away, they dismissed it, all these different kind of things.
[00:01:49] We do the very same thing. The remarkable thing is when we confess it and we do, when we go before the Lord and say, be merciful to me, a poor sinful being.
[00:01:59] God is merciful, God does forgive but that does not give us a license to just dismiss what God says day in and day out about our sinful lifestyle.
[00:02:10] We have to say, God be merciful to me, a sinner and give me your grace and your strength so that I walk in your ways. I have to admit, I saw that sign and I started laughing out loud.
[00:02:23] Oh my goodness, people just can't agree dismissed what the law said. We're going to shoot off illegal fireworks who cares what you say. Sometimes we do the very same thing with the laws of God but thanks for your God for his grace and mercy and love and forgiveness.
